Anne's school friend, Margaret, sat down in the seat next to her. Margaret had dark locks that went to her shoulders, and pretty green eyes.
'Good morning,' Margaret said happily.
'Morning,' Anne said, pulling out her slate. -
The street gang glared at her "Nothing that you need to know bout"
Lily sighed. "This my patch now scarper" she snapped but the boys didn't go. -
'Nah, it's ours now!' one of the grimy boys piped up.

"How is this your patch? Your one of those fancy pants people" one of the youngest added.
Lily rolled her eyes. "I ain't, I'm just staying with my friend for now" she snapped back. -
The oldest scoffed. 'We ain't believin' that lie, yer tryna clear us off!'

Lily scowled. "You believe what yer like but this is my patch so get out!!"

A couple of the youngest boys ran off but the older ones scowled at Lily. "Why don't you run back home to your nursemaid before things get ugly?" The tallest one snapped taking a step forwards as he cracked his knuckles. -
A younger boy squealed. 'Stop! We'll get punished if someone sees you hit a girl!'

"But this girl claims to be one of us" one of them snapped back.

'Even worse!' a younger boy said.

Lily scowled at them pushing her worries to the back of her head. "I could beat the pulp out of you all if I wanted to so I won't say this again so scarper" lily shouted though she would only win in a fight against some of the youngest and the skinnier.
