'Hello,' Anne said. She noticed the mud on Lily's dress. 'Your dress is dirty.' -
Lily pursed her lips. "I'm sorry, my tunnel, a tunnel, that I was sitting by was damp and I heard the church bell ring and I ran to meet you but there was a puddle that I didn't see" she burbled not really making sense. She felt terrified that she would be kicked out for ruining Anne's dress but felt more guilty than fear. "I'm sorry" she muttered again.

'It's a dress,' Anne said with a small smile. 'Just a dress. You can borrow another one and we'll wash the dirt off later.' She took Lily's hand. 'Come on,' she said.

Lily gave a sigh of relief and squeezed Anne's hand.
(Just wondering does Anne have a father XD?) -
(yeah- they've just seen no trace of him for a couple days xD)
Anne chuckled and started walking back to the bakery. -
Lily walked with her and gave a worried glance as they approached. "Do you think your mother will be angry? Because of the dress, I mean" she asked.

'No. Why would she be? It's just a dress, Lily,' Anne said with a light chuckle.

Lily nodded and said nothing more. She didn't know why she was so worried about it, maybe because in the factory they were beaten if they made a mistake? Or maybe she was just paranoid.

The two soon got to the bakery, and Anne lead Lily up to her room after kissing her grandmother on the cheek. Anne opened her wardrobe and looked for a dress Lily could wear.

(Yay! Her grandmother finally woke up! XD 🤣🤣ðŸ˜)
Lily followed Anne up to her room and sat down on the bed careful not to get mud on the duvet. -
(her poor grandmother 🤣)
Anne eventually picked out a nice pale green dress with small puffed sleeves. Puffed sleeves were all the rage. 'Here you go,' Anne said, setting it on the bed. -
Lily smiled. "It's beautiful thank you"
