Anne pursed her lips. 'I don't think they're gonna believe you have a private tutor.'

Her face fell. "I'm sorry, I- I'll go find somewhere else for the day, what time does the school finish?"

'3 o'clock,' Anne said. 'I'm sorry.'

"No it's fine, have fun I guess" she gave a small smile as they approached the school gates.

'Alright, if you say so,' Anne said, still worried about her.

"I'll be fine, I've survived out here for years alright? Goodbye, I'll meet you here at three" lily smiled squeezing Anne's hand before turning around.

Anne gave a weak smile. 'See you then,' she said.

Lily nodded slowly walking away. "Are you okay?" She quickly checked.

Anne nodded. 'Yes.' -

"Alright, bye then" -
'Bye,' Anne said. She hesitated before walking into the building.

Lily ran off down the street to her old hideout where she would sit and hug herself in the coldest hours of the night. A single tear slipped down her cheek as she realised how privileged she was to have Anne as a friend. It was now November and that was one of the coldest months of the year.

Anne sat down at her desk. There were kids of ages from 8 to 16, totalling in about 30 children in her class.

As Lily approached her old hideout she noticed a gang of grimy boys around her age, maybe slightly older. They didn't look like helpless runaways but they didn't look like the rich either. "What you doing h'ere?" She asked confidently.
