Lily sighed in relief and leaned against the wall. This was going to be a long day.

Meanwhile, Anne was doing Maths work with Margaret. The two were trying to teach the smaller kids how to multiply while the teacher taught some of the older children at the front of the classroom.

Lily sat down in her dreary tunnel remembering how much her life had changed since she met Anne. It was like a dream come true, so different to the street-rat life she'd been living for the past several years. She thought back to when she first found the tunnel, when she was only nine years old.

Margaret sighed. 'This is hopeless!' she said to Anne.

Lily sat down, leaning against the tunnel trying to keep herself warm.

Anne sighed. 'Let's go over it again,' she said to the smaller children. Margaret buried her face in her hands.

Lily wondered how long school would last as she sat down in the cold, damp tunnel.

Anne walked out of the school grounds with Margaret, the two looking extremely tired.

Lily heard the church clock ring three times and rushed towards the school accidentally splashing mad on her dress in the process.

'Good day, Anne,' Margaret said. 'See you tomorrow!'
'Yes, I'll see you!' Anne said. 'Good day!'
As Margaret left Anne saw Lily come into view. Anne waved.
