"R-right," Zacharius stutters, still trembling.
"A demon," Duran calls out, placing his sword back into its sheath. "I knew it. I'll have to capture it, first." Duran then pulls out a chain covered in spikes.
Holding back more tears, Zacharius' face turns red and they lash out in pain. "I'M NOT A DEMON!"
Aries claps their hands together, pulling them apart and spawning a larger sword with jagged edges. Struggling to lift the sword, Aries flaps their wings heavily, dragging the sword up from the ground, raising it above their head and slamming it down on the ground, sending a Shockwave across the ground that ripples towards Duran and knocks him back into a rock wall. As Zacharius recollects themself, they see Revelation dart after Duran with some sort of miraculously-gained might.
Aries then disperses the sword and flies over to Revelation, picking him up and flying him to Duran, flipping him off into the air. As Revelation is in the air, Zacharius forms a bow and set of arrows, placing the bow in Revelation's hands with their magic. Aries then turns into a shadow and kicks Duran from behind, right towards Revelation. -
I felt.. graceful, being in the air, holding the bow in my hands and looking around. I snapped to my senses and gazed to my target, breathing shallowly whilst I tried to maintain my calm demeanour. Thinking quickly, I pulled the string back and closed my right eye, aiming as close as I could to their head. "You will threaten us no more. I hope where ever you go to, may there be peace. You will never mess with us again.", I whispered as I let go, watching the arrow arc through the air with an unmatched beauty. I looked away as I gritted my teeth, hoping it would hit the target as close as I had tried.

Duran attempts to move, but as he does, Aries takes form and draws Duran's sword from his sheath. In that moment, the witch hunter knew his fate.
Zacharius closes their eyes, feeling a force push against them. Zacharius opens their eyes, frozen in shock.
Struck by an arrow and impaled by his own sword, Duran was no more.
Somehow, words manage to leave Aries' lips while they stand in awe. "We—did it...? Have we...?"
Just then, the ground begins to rumble beneath the two's feet. Without any warning, the ground gives out from under Revelation and Zacharius, sending them plunging to the world below.
"I got you," Aries calls to Revelation, wrapping their arms around him, but as they spread their wings to fly, a large rock hurls itself into Aries' left wing. "AGH," Aries cries, flipping over with Revelation in their arms, falling facing the sky. Unable to fly or even glide with one wing, Zacharius hopes to break the fall.
Just as the two approach the ground below, they fall through the treetops. Revelation hooks an arm around Zacharius hand uses his bow to catch a branch before they hit the ground and slide down to their feet softly.
Zacharius opens their eyes and gazes into Revelation's, blushing and swishing their tail as they hide a smile from him. When they realize they have their hand on his chest, they quickly retract it and step away, grabbing their arm and looking away. -
I panted softly as we both fell safely out of harm's way, enduring the ordeal that was a lackluster battle. I looked into their eyes, noting the swashing of their tail, and the stifling of a smile. It honestly looked adorable. I couldn't help but chuckle at the sight, looking lost in my feelings until I remembered their appearance. "So.. This is you, huh?", I asked rather nervously, putting the bow next to the tree. I still felt rather confused about all of this and where we were.
-
"I—yes," Zacharius timidly replies, shrinking away self-consciously. "This is my absolute form. My people are solely the embodiment of two energies. We usually don't take definite form until the age of 12. I struggled as a child trying to find that form, and while most end up looking as I initially did when we met, I...ended up different... I earned the nickname 'Aries' because of the horns. But, I'm actually a Capricorn, on another note." Zacharius pauses, then looking dejected. "This is too weird, isn't it?"
-
"I see..", I sighed, glancing up and down at them. "It's not weird. Just surprising." I slightly smiled as I looked into their eyes, feeling guilt from earlier. "I am so sorry.", I sighed and sat down, the pain in my leg beginning to be more noticeable. "Schieße..", I grumbled as I fell back in pain, gritting my teeth. "I shouldn't have snapped at you in the hospital. I'm not fully used to any sort of company."
-
"No," Aries insists, "Please don't take the blame. I pushed you away after you helped me. I just wanted to keep you safe, and I feared that if I let you come with me, something would happen to you—something I could never forgive myself for. But, even now, something has happened that I cannot forgive myself for," they finish, sitting down next to Revelation and putting their hand on his leg. "You're wounded, and badly, at that. I must heal you...somehow... " Zacharius' ears droop as they consider their skills. "I, however, am specialized in weapons magic and shadowshifting. Hell if I know white magic. I tried to learn, but I could never get it right..... Nevertheless, I will try."
-
Hearing that shocked me a bit. Perhaps they too were dealing with a far traumatic loss than I had realized. I stared, lost for words as I sighed to myself, grabbing a small branch to bite on if needed. I reached into my pocket and picked up a small bottle from within. I carefully unscrewed the cap and dumped the liquid onto my wound without fuss, then bit down on the branch with enough force to snap it in half. "Damn it."
-
Cupping their hands over Revelation's leg, Zacharius speaks a foreign language, hands glowing, but the when glow disperses, they let out a frustrated growl. "Ugh! Come on, Zach! Can't you do anything right? GUH!" Zacharius then tries again, but they receive the same result. Sighing, they look up at Revelation. With deep remorse in in their eyes and bags beneath the remorseful eyes, they apologize. "I'm sorry. Like I said, white magic isn't my thing, b-but, I'll keep trying."
-
I chuckled, closing my eyes slightly as I set my hand on theirs. "You've nothing to worry about. I'll be okay.", I said, ripping off a part of my shirt and using it to create a makeshift gauze. After tightly tying it around my wound, I looked around at where we were in confusion. "Are we underground? I don't remember this place existing."
-
Face slightly flushed as Aries redirects their eyes from Revelation's arm, they then stand up, helping him to his feet. "I am unfamiliar with this place, to be honest, but it does seem to be an entirely different climate down here. Perhaps we've passed through a magic boundary into another region. Either way, I can't fly back up with a wounded wing. That rock might have fractured something when it hit me." Pausing and looking around, Zacharius assesses the situation before continuing. "Suppose our only option is to move forwards and try to find another way back to Midsora Canyon."
-
As I was helped up, I felt the pain full force hit me at once, sending me to the floor like a ton of bricks. "Damnation..", I gasped as I looked back to the tree, and grabbed three equally sized branches, an idea forming. Using two of them, I lined them and my leg up perfectly, then ripped off my shirt, creating a makeshift tourniquet. I stood up again, feeling much less in pain than before, breathing a sigh of relief. "I'll leave it to you. When we get out, we're both checking in to the hospital. Things may be rough for the both of us, but we'll escape.", I said, feeling concerned.
-
"Yes... That may be best..." Zacharius looks down at the ground solemnly, gripping their arm as they begin to set out. "Revvie, I'm sorry I rushed in to fight Duran. You could've died, and I put your life at risk once again. The last thing i want is to lose you." Turning their face away to jot dare look Revelation in the eye, Zacharius ends with a dark statement. "I've already lost another for my ignorance..."
-
I stopped, glancing back at them in worry and fear, but a reassuring smile was planted on my face. "You have nothing to worry about. I've been living on my own for years, and have never once been in harm or danger of dying. I promise you." I knelt down and gently lifted their chin up. "I will never be lost."
-
Zacharius covers their mouth to hide a smile as they let out a low giggle. Slowly walking along with Revelation, Aries then grabs his hand and raises a question. "So, Duran is now defeated. Where will you go from here? If you, um, don't have any plans, the Bladeers could use someone like you." They scratch their head and look away as they grow silent.
