I glanced down, noticing that they looked troubled, inciting my curiosity. "Tell me.", I said, offering my hand on their leg gently. "What's on your mind? Kase is asleep, so you should be okay."
-
"You are aware that I have the power of light and dark magic at my fingertips. I'm not well-versed in healing magic, but I know possession spells...
I can possess you and use your very being as my own... Because your DNA lacks the magic mine has, the excorlix would soon have not enough to feed off of and leave my body...however, you will be sick for a few days, and...I could never convince myself to do such a thing to you..." -
Pondering such a serious decision, I had to weigh the options: They would feel better, but at the cost of using my body. I looked into their eyes, feeling the soul trapped inside cry out in pain. I shook my head and lay a small smile on my face. "I'll do it. It'll be risky, but they can't be without a second-in-command. Plus, seeing you like this is hurting me slightly.", I whispered.
-
"I...appreciate you,"Zacharius says, slowly starting to disappear. They turn into a shadow, climbing up onto Revelation's hand, becoming absorbed before his eyes.
After the fact. Kase awakens, finding Revelation sweating and standing over the empty bed.
"Hey! Where's Aries?!" -
Through pained breath, I could barely speak. "Body.. Fused.. Myself..", I hoarsely whispered, collapsing to my knees. Pain had surged through my body, sending all of my nerves into a frenzy. "I can manage., I'll be okay.." The next thing I knew, everything went dark, and I was gone..
-
"Revvie. Revvie, wake up. Please wake up, honey. It'll be okay," a familiar voice calls to Revelation. Arms wrap around Revelation and hold him tight as Zacharius speaks again. "I'm certain you've worried Kase, passing out like that. But, in all seriousness, I apologize. I wasn't expecting it to be this painful for you. I may have forgotten that you are only human. But I thank you for allowing me your form. I am already feeling better. It would seem you've been in a small coma for a weak, however. I have two words of advice for you. One, I would suggest you get something to eat. You've been asleep for quite some time. But, more importantly, and before that, I suggest you find a bucket, trash can, or something of the sort. It would appear humans are incapable of expelling poison by release of energy. Who would have guessed," they end with a nervous chuckle.
-
I opened my eyes forcefully and rapidly, feeling nauseous. "What.. happened?", I groaned, feeling like death had taken hold of me. I felt numb, as though my very soul were being sucked from within, then forced back inside.
-
"Hm?" Kase looks up from her book, sitting in the corner of Aries' bedroom. She runs to the foot of the bed, startled. "Hey! You're finally awake! Thank goodness. Listen, tell Zach to leave your body immediately. This was a horrible idea for them to fuse with you! I can't believe they'd be so reckless and put your life in danger like that."
-
"No.. I offered to be the one to help them.. Right now, I may be under a heavy illness, but I can take the satisfaction knowing they're doing okay.." I felt myself begin to burn up, then frantically reach over to find a bucket. Luckily, there was one, and I relieved all of the contents in my stomach into it, setting it down lightly with a sigh. "I am so sorry..", I sighed and felt slightly more ill.
-
Deep within Revelation, Aries' voice appears again, this time scoring him. "Wait, was that my bucket for cleaning my weaponry? You dolt!"
"Huh," Kase utters in stupor. "Wait, I thought you were a Darkavonian, aren't you? Zacharius fusing with you should only have the same effect on you as it did Aries. What's going on here?!" she demands to know, quickly growing hot. "Zacharius Lindsay Ulbritch, if you don't answer me right now—!"
Revelation seems to zone out while Kase continues her rant, barely able to make out her words while he focuses on the inner voice of Aries.
"Ah, she expects me to speak. I will not possess you to such an extent. I still wish for you to have freewill. You're simply my vessel for healing, for now, and nothing more. However, she suspects I've brought in an outsider, at this point. What to do, what to do? Hmm. We could put her to sleep... We could bury the body."
What?
"I kid. But Kase will not relent, now that she suspects something. I suppose the only thing to do is be honest," Aries finishes. -
"You're fused with another?", I asked inwardly in a panicked matter. "Though now it does make sense. When we're better, I think we need talk." I snapped back to reality, looking towards Kase with a solemn expression. "Before I show and tell you, you MUST keep this a secret. Do you understand and accept my request?", I asked.
-
"You are the only one I'm fused with. You don't have magic in your bloodstream, and that lack of magic is what kills the excorlix. But if two Darkavonians fused together, the excorlix would kill them both. Kase now knows you're not a Darkavonian because the poison isn't killing you, and you are expelling it differently," Aries replies.
Kase raises a brow. "Keep it a secret? Just who are you," she demands, pulling out her sword. -
This was all so confusing to me. My head was pounding from what I had to learn after this.
"An ally. Plus, you stab me, you run the risk of hurting them or worse.", I said, sighing as I reached for my hood and threw it off. "Bring your insults. I've heard worse." -
Kase drops her sword, seeing Revelation's ears. She shakes her head and stares in stupor. "Wh-what are you? I've never seen your kind here before. How did you even get here?"
Zacharius' voice speaks to Revelation before he replies. "Kase has not really ventured outside of this area. I'm certain she means no harm. But, given our history, Darkavonians can be a bit harsh to newcomers. I apologize on her behalf." -
"That's the thing. I don't know.", I said, then began to go into detail of the last twenty years of my life. The hut, the foster homes, all of it. "And so, that leaves me here at this very moment. I have no idea where I came from, why I'm not home, and why I'm not dying from this." I then spoke inwardly to Aries. "My apologies for your bucket.."
