Lucas's ears lowered a bit. "I've tried that. It doesn't seem to work for me." He paused then, a sudden smile appearing. "Oh! But now I've got you! You're definitely cute, cuter than I am, and humans love seeing cute hybrids doing cute things. So maybe if we okay and cuddle and stuff someone will want us both!"

Marco perked up, smiling widely with accomplishment at having potentially found a way for them to go to a home together. "It'll definitely work," he stated, clasping his hands together on his lap and pondering the idea. "Though I'm no cuter than you."

Lucas smiled. "Liar," He teased. "Either way, if we show the customers we're attached to each other, they're more likely to adopt us both. Especially us. They'll feel bad for a little forest hybrid, probably confused being stuck in a place like this."

Marco's ears flattened against his head, smiling innocently. "They'll be kind, have a heart. Right. And hopefully we'll get a good home.." He hummed a little, thinking of a warm house, and lots of food, and sleeping on a comfy cushion. The light coming in from the window was growing whiter and brighter, and he had a feeling the shop would open soon.

Lucas nodded, feeling more excited than he had in a while as the man appeared, descending the staircase. He flipped the 'open' sign around on the door so that customers would see they were welcome. He glanced at the two hybrids and made a slight shooing motion towards their cage.

For once, Marco was a little eager to get back to the cage, being as he'd get to see if they could find a home. He stood from his chair, and hurried back to the barred door, sliding open the lock to swing open the door. He noticed, again, the ache in his arm, but he was glad that it wasn't spreading at all. Going into the cage, he left the door open behind him to let Lucas in. -

Lucas clambered in behind him, shutting and locking the door to their cage. Only a few minutes later, a woman burst through the door. She was practically dragging another woman behind her, and a small child trailed behind. The first woman had bright orange hair and an overjoyed smile. She glanced around the pet shop, looking more like a child than her own little companion. Lucas gently nudged Marco with a grin. "Be cute." -

Marco shuffled his feet for a moment, unsure of what to do to be cute on the fly. As a first tactic, he plopped down on the ground, sitting with his legs crossed. He didn't want to sit by himself, though, so he reached out to tug on Lucas' pants to signal for him to sit down as well. -

Lucas say beside him and pulled Marco up close, so that the fox hybrid was seated between his legs. Laughing softly and happily to himself, he slid his arms around Marco's waist from behind and hugged him, nuzzling his neck. "People like cuddling, right?" He asked quietly. His question was answered as the orange-haired woman smiled in their direction, bending over slightly to peer at them with bright blue eyes. -
Marco's cheeks tinted a slight pink when Lucas pulled him in, but he nodded slightly. "Mhm, I think so..." He took a split-second glance over in the direction of the people who had entered. The other woman, the one who had electric blue cropped hair that drew Marco's attention, was holding two different hands- one of the red haired lady, and one of a little child. When he looked back at the red haired lady, he flushed bright red upon finding that she was looking right at them. He ducked his head shyly, twisting himself around in Lucas' arms to face him and hide his face in his shoulder. "They're looking at us, what do I do?"

Lucas laughed again and gave him a little squeeze. "Hiding won't do anything, I kneo that much." He smiled and the lady and gave her a little wave, which she eagerly returned. Turning the the blue-haired woman she smiled and gestured her over. "Look, look at these two! They're so cute!"

Marco hesitated to move at all, his ears already flat and face buried in Lucas' shirt. After a moment, he decided to show some interest. He turned his head, so that his cheek was on Lucas and he could see past the bars, but put his arms around the dog hybrid in his best maneuver of nervousness. He blinked at the blue haired lady, who was now smiling at them. "Oh, that is adorable, it is," he cooed, looking back at the red haired lady.
