Marco found himself feeling like he never wanted to leave the shop. It was warm, he didn't have to steal anything to survive, and he felt so loved. While he knew his brother had cared about him, he always thought it was more of an obligation because their parents would be disappointed if they didn't take care of each other. Here, Marco knew Lucas had no obligation at all to be nice to him. The fox shut his eyes, curled up, and fell asleep to these thoughts.
-
"G'night..." He whispered to the already-asleep fox hybrid, before closing his own eyes and beginning to drift off. His tail was once again wrapped around himself, and in a matter of minutes he was asleep. The last thought he had before falling into unconsciousness was that he hoped Marco's brother wasn't found. He knew it was selfish ins wrong of him, but if his brother was found then Marco might have to leave, and Lucas didn't want that.
-
Marco slept on the warm blanket soundly, snoring every few seconds. He wasn't very alert at all; when the shop lights were turned off, he didn't stir, and he didn't when one of the kittens started mewing late into the night. He only finally woke up, blinking, when he'd slept straight through the night and awoke to faint sunlight from the window.
-
Lucas was usually quite the early riser, but due to all the unexpected excitement of the day before, he was still asleep when Marco woke up. The dog hybrid mumbled something incoherent and snuggled up to the fox hybrid, his ears twitching.
-
Marco yawned for a second, his half-open eyes looking at the dog hybrid who'd moved in closer to him. The shop lady wasn't downstairs yet, so he knew that must mean there was more time to sleep. He tucked himself into Lucas, his head under the other's chin and his arms folded between them to stay warm.
-
The softly snoring hybrid unconsciously wrapped his arms around Marco, nuzzling into his hair and sighing contentedly. He mumbled something again and blearily blinked his eyes open, taking a moment to realizie the position he was in. A small blush crept over his face once he realized he was hugging Marco.
-
(So after three days of my illness I contemplated what happened to Marco's brother
He was captured and put down by the hybrid control because he was a nuisance and so when the hybrid control people find out that Marco's in the shop they give a deadline for him to be adopted or else they'll put him down too)
Marco closed his eyes again, hoping to get a while more of sleep. He ended up being awoken only a few seconds later by the cat hybrid in the cage next to them hissing about being hungry. Marco made a sound of gripe, and buried his face into Lucas, assuming he was still asleep. -
ooohhhhh dramatic I love it ouo also are you feeling better now)
Lucas involuntarily let out a little squeak, turning scarlet as Marco pressed closer to him. He bit his lip and tentatively gave him a gentle squeeze, trying to alert the fox hybrid that he was now conscious. -
(Very
Yep, I had the stomach flu, but I already feel much better. Like I was never sick~)
Marco's eyes shot open, realizing his mistake. "Sorry," he said, using his legs to push himself backwards a foot. "I was just cold. Is the shop opening soon?" -
Aw, that must've sucked. But it's good that you're feeling better~)
Lucas sat up and half-smiled, still blushing. "No, no, it's fine. Actually, I should be thanking you. See, I've never had anyone stay in the same cage as me before, and it's usually so cold at night, but being near you kept me warm all night!" He paused to take a breath. "And yeah, the shop'll probably open in just a little bit." -
Marco sat up as well, yawning and rubbing his eyes. "Yah, it is kind of cold." At the front of the store he heard someone try to open the door, and there were three short knocks. He blinked, lowering his hands from his face and waiting for the shop lady to come downstairs and open the door.
-
The woman appeared descending the stairs in a matter of seconds, followed by her husband, who still looked half-asleep. He blearily unlocked the door and held it open for the arrivals. "Can we help you?" The woman asked with a curious but polite smile. Lucas leaned forward, his ears perking up in interest, wondering who it could be. This was the second day in a row someone had arrived early at the shop.
-
At the door stood one man, having a regular height but having more muscle than Marco would have thought possible. He wore a blue jumpsuit, inscribed with his name on his right shoulder. "Hi, my name is Dan, I'm from the Center of Hybrid Relations," he introduced himself, sticking his hand out to shake. The other was holding a clipboard, that was too far away for Marco to read. "I'm just looking for a missing hybrid."
-
The man gave a firm handshake as the woman's eyes darted to Marco and then back to their company. "Er..which hybrid would that be, exactly?" She asked. Lucas, who had already guessed who the man was here for, flattened his ears and pushed Marco behind him, resisting the urge to start barking at the man.
-
The man took his hand away to flip through the papers on the clipboard. Finally, he faced it towards the woman. On the top was a picture, of the two fox hybrids, in the woods and seeming oblivious of their picture being taken. He pointed to Marco in the picture. "This one. A nuisance one. It's been causing trouble with a brother in the camp grounds for a long while." Marco managed to catch on by that point, and had fallen pale and nervous. He held onto the back of Lucas' shirt, just in case they'd try to pull him away.
