(Yeah .3. iPhone 6, I'll just get another of the same one.)
Marco decided to comfort Lucas as well, seeing as he needed it. He nuzzled against him, trying to give off an air of confidence, purring in an attempt to be comforting. "We'll be there soon," he said, quietly, to reassure both himself and Lucas. -
ooh, cool~
The soft purrs coming from Marco quickly quieted Lucas. He was still scared, but he focused on the fox hybrid's soft words instead, calming down slightly. And Marco was right. After another minute or two, the truck stopped, the engine dying out in a blink. Lucas slowly opened his eyes, glancing around cautiously to make sure it was really over. -
(Yeah~
Marco was glad that Lucas didn't seem quite so distressed anymore, and it calmed him, as well. When the truck stopped, he looked up, and saw that they were on a street in front of a long row of human houses. When their car had stopped, Kayleigh got out, opening the back door and unbuckling her daughter to let her out. -
Brynn hugged Kayleigh's leg, watching with wide eyes as the man got out of the truck and opened the cage. Lucas stood up, his ears perking up happily. He kept one arm around Marco as the man gestured for them to come out. Olivia stood next to her wife, smiling.
-
Kayleigh patted the little girl's head, smiling at her apparent interest in their new family members. Marco got out, involuntarily pulling off Lucas' arm, but as soon as the dog hybrid was out as well he jumped into his arms, lifting his legs up to cling to him.
-
Lucas snickered, being sure not to accidentally drop him. The pet store man raised an eyebrow, handing the collars and leashes to Olivia, who was watching the hybrids with a bemused expression.
-
Marco was still feeling nervous about the people. Although not as nervous as before, he was still afraid that they might be a little mean once the pet shop owner was gone, so he clung onto Lucas tightly. Kayleigh stepped forward, rubbing Marco's back, who seemed to stiffen up at the touch. "Thank you," he said to the pet shop owner, "We'll treat them good, we promise."
-
The man smiled and nodded. "My wife really likes the fox, so if you ever need more food or anything, give the shop a call." He gave a small nod before climbing back into the truck, leaving a crate of food and supplies behind with the hybrids. Lucas held Marco close, tail wagging. He offered a small smile at Kayleigh. "You have a nice house."
-
Kayleigh nodded and thanked the man, then looked back at the hybrids. The one seemed stressed, but the dog, she knew might be her favored one, because it is was so open. "Thank you, how about we go in?" She asked. Marco didn't know what to expect in there, but he would trust Lucas to judge it.
-
"Think you can walk?" he asked Marco softly, watching as Olivia lifted up the box of supplies and Brynn hurried towards the door, blonde curls bouncing, giggling about dog toys and showing the fox her dress up tiaras.
-
Marco whined, but gave Lucas one last tight squeeze before he released his hold on him. He stood, still holding one of Lucas' hands. Kayleigh ushered for the hybrids to follow, while she followed Brynn up to the door and opened it for her.
-
Brynn darted inside, chattering nonstop. Olivia set the box on the table, watching Lucas lead Marco inside with a reassuring smile. "Alright, you two will be sharing the guest room, but are you hungry? Is there anything you'd like before we show you around?"
-
Marco was still nervous, but was starting to like the look of things. Nothing looked too scary, and a lot of things seemed new and exciting. Like a big black rectangle against one wall, and doors everywhere, leading to lots of other things. There were even stairs, meaning there was a whole upper level of more things. He shook his head at the offer of food, wanting to move along. Kayleigh swept Brynn up, tapping her nose. "Want to go see if you have any toys you think they'd want to play with?" She asked her daughter.
-
"Yes yes yes!" Brynn cried with a bright smile, squirming excitedly in Kaleigh's arms. "We can play dress up!" Lucas smiled, he really did love kids. "I'd love to play with you, I'm sure Marco would too, he's just a little shy. Your house is nice on the inside too, by the way," he rambled on for a minute, looking around.
-
Marco nodded, to agree with Lucas, that he would be willing to play with Brynn as well. Kayleigh smiled at their enthusiasm, and set Brynn down so she could run off. She turned to Olivia, "How about you start showing them around? I'm going to get started on lunch."
