“Yeah, a little bit,” Evan shrugged, nodding.
-
“Real, honestly-“ Connor said, chuckling softly.
-
“I’ve been sleeping like s---,” Evan muttered. “The nightmares are awful-“
-
Connor nodded, understanding all too well. “I’m sure they would be,” he spoke softly, shifting the bag from one hand to the other and resting his hand gently on Evan’s. “I’m sorry you have to deal with that.”
-
Evan hummed quietly, shrugging. “I’m fine- it’s not your fault, anyways.”
-
“I know, I still feel bad, though,” Connor said, chuckling softly.
-
Evan shrugged. “Don’t, it’s fine. I’m fine, really-“
-
“Okay, I won’t,” Connor said, chuckling softly. He hummed softly as they walked, checking his phone for a moment.
-
Evan yawned quietly, sighing quietly.
-
Connor glanced over, watching Evan for a moment. “You okay?” He asked, gently nudging his side a little.
-
“Yeah, I’m just tired,” Evan said quietly, shrugging. “I also hate walking, honestly- that just shows how bored I was.”
-
Connor chuckled, nodding. “That’s fair, honestly,” he said, running a hand through his hair.
-
“Yeah,” Evan said softly, nodding and turning his head away as they walked.
-
Connor watched Evan for a moment before looking forward, continuing walking. “They soon arrived back at Evan’s house and walked up to the front door, carefully opening it and checking to make sure the coast was clear.
-
“Evan? Where have you been?” His dad called, poking his head out of the kitchen. “I thought I told you to go to your room, young man-“ “Sorry- I- well, I’m always in my room, y’know-“ Evan said nervously.
