When 16-year-old poetry blogger C1 is involved in a car accident and loses their eyesight for 100 days, they feel like their whole world has been turned upside-down.
Terrified that their vision might never return, C1 feels like they has nothing left to be happy about. But when their grandparents place an ad in the local newspaper looking for a typist to help C1 continue writing and blogging, an unlikely answer knocks at their door: C1, a person their age with bright eyes, an optimistic smile. . . and no legs.
Knowing how angry and afraid C1 is feeling, C2 thinks they can help them. But they have one condition: no one can tell C1 about their disability. And because they can’t see them, C1 treats them with contempt — screaming at C2 to get out of their house and never come back. But for C2, it’s the most amazing feeling: to be treated like a normal person, not just a sob story. So they comes back. Again and again and again.
C1 spurns C2’s “obnoxious optimism”, convinced that they has no idea what their going through. But C2 knows exactly how they feel and reaches into their darkness to show them that there is more than one way to experience the world. As C1 grows closer to C2, they finds it harder and harder to imagine life without them — and C2 can’t imagine life without them. But they still haven’t told them the truth, and when C1’s sight returns they’ll have to make the hardest decision of their life: vanish from C1’s world. . . or overcome their fear of being seen.

Connor sat on the couch of his living room on his phone, scrolling through it. “You wanted to remove the ad?” He could hear his mother say from the kitchen, walking into the living room. “For the blogger who lost their sight in a wreck not too long ago? God, I'm sorry for him. Hope he gets well soon, and the ad will be removed.” A blind blogger, huh? Intriguing, he thought to himself, watching his mother hang up the phone.
“Connor! Can you go get my computer?” His mother called. “Yeah,” he replied, standing up as his prosthetics held him up. He had lost her legs a few years back due to a stupid mistake she made, but it's not a complete loss. He can still function like a normal person, maybe even better. I think I've just found my next job for the next few month or so, he thought to himself, grabbing his mother’s computer, pulling up the edits of the newspaper, finding the address of the house and writing it in his phone. “This'll be interesting.”
Connor soon appeared at the house and knocked on the door, it soon being opened by an young-ish man. “Hello, may I- May I help you?” The man said, looking down at Vivian and her prosthetic legs.
“Hi, I'm Connor. Savannah Woods’ son, owner the local newspaper. I happened to hear about the ad for your, I'm presuming kid? And I thought I'd be able to help.” “Uh, well, we did remove-“
“Yeah, I know you asked for it to be removed, but I really think I can help them.” The man smiled, nodding at Connor. “Well, come on in, then,” the man said with a small smile, opening the door for Connor. He smiled and walked inside, looking around. “So, where's the blind kid?” He asked, crossing his arms. “He's upstairs,” he replied. “I'll let him know you're here, though I'm sure he won't be happy, especially considering he didn't want me to put the ad up in the first place,” he added, making his way upstairs and to the boy’s room, lightly knocking on the door.
(damn, that’s a long one lol) -
(get it lmaoo)
Evan was sulking in his room, quickly shutting off the radio as he heard the knocking. “Mum, I thought I told you I was listening to something-“ -
“Ev, hun, I have someone who wants to speak with you,” his father replied, opening the bedroom door.
-
“Who is it?” George asked, staying still in his seat as he listened.
-
(gogy, how’d you get here?? lmaoo)
“His name is Connor, he saw the ad I posted, that you wanted me to take down,” his father spoke as Connor poked his head into the room, watching Evan for a moment. “Hello,” he spoke with a small smile, wanting to step inside but not wanting to overstep. Although, he had probably long already crossed that line by doing this. -
(sorry i’ve beeen programmed lmao 😭)
Evan furrowed his brows, turning himself around so he would face Connor, more to be polite than anything else. “Does he know that I wanted to take it down? I mean, he obviously does now if he didn’t before.” -
(lmfaooo real honestly-)
“Yeah, I knew- My mom’s the one who put it up,” Connor replied with a quiet chuckle, stepping into the room a little. -
“Then why are you here?” Evan said softly, frowning.
-
(brooo why is it thundering so f---ing loud rnnnn :’))
“I wanted to help,” Connor replied, smiling a little. “It said something about you having a blog, right?” He added as Evan’s father left, gently shutting the door.
