“Wow, rude much?” The girl spoke, furrowing her brows and crossing her arms. “That’s not how you talk to a girl who’s interested in you- Also, the no eye contact thing? Not cute.”
-
“Uh- sorry, I didn’t mean to be rude, I just-“ Evan said awkwardly, the people-pleaser in him coming out.
-
Connor looked over after he grabbed the bag with his records, furrowing his brows as he watched some girl approached Evan. He walked over, crossing his arms. “I’m back, Evan-“
-
“Oh! Connor- hi, let’s go-“ Evan said, reaching for Connor’s arm.
-
“Guess you’re the ‘friend’, Connor. Maybe teach this one some manners on how to treat a girl,” the ravenette said, rolling her eyes. “He doesn’t even know how to make some f---ing eye contact-“ “Y’know, maybe the reason he can’t do this is because he’s f---ing blind, Michelle,” Connor stated, glaring at Michelle. “Oh, of course you’d make friends with another blind kid- you disabled freaks deserve each other,” she retorted, glaring at Connor before walking off.
-
Evan furrowed his brows, turning his head to Connor. “We deserve each other? Since when are you disabled?”
-
“I have no clue what she meant by that-“ Connor said, glaring at Michelle as she walked out of the shop. “And- Well, so we both go to the same school- And I have dyslexia, and- Well, I- I guess she kind of makes fun of me for it? I-I dunno,” he spoke nervously, holding the records to his chest.
-
Evan paused, furrowing his brows. “Uhh- okay. You sound really suspicious, though-“
-
“Sorry, I’m not trying to-“ Connor said, chuckling awkwardly. “Well uh- I got the records,” he said quickly, smiling. “They’re a tad pricey, but they’re so worth it~”
-
“How many did you get?” Evan said with a soft chuckle, reaching his hand out to grab Connor’s arm.
-
“I got three,” Connor replied, holding out his arm until it brushed Evan’s hand. “I got the Jimmy Eat World one, a Weezer one- Because why the hell not,” he said, chuckling softly. “And then I found a Radiohead one, which was one hell of a find~”
-
“That’s nice,” Evan said with a nod, grabbing onto Connor’s arm, nodding. “Very cool-“
-
Connor smiled, heading towards the exit of the shop. He exhaled a little, relieved Evan didn’t question what Michelle said more. He glanced down at his visible prosthetics, his hand holding his bag gripping it tightly as he continued forward,
-
Evan yawned quietly, following Connor out of the store. “How far away are we?”
-
“Not too far, it’s not a super long walk,” Connor replied, looking over at Evan. “You tired?” He asked, a small smile on his face.
