"What, don't you want to see me again?" Theo laughed, not realizing how much he friendzoned her. "I'll give you free bread!"

'Deal!' Hazel said with a grin that was partially forced. She tried not to think about that.

Theo noticed how much her smile was forced, and his own smile faltered. "Great!"

Hazel focused back on the TV, fiddling with her hands.

Theo felt like he messed up somehow, since she seemed so upset. He stared down at his rug before back at the TV.

Hazel leaned fully against Max, closing her eyes, since it was awkward to lean on her ex's girlfriend.

Max was lighting up like a jack o lantern, looking at Hazel with a grin before looking back at the TV.

Hazel fell into a light sleep.

Theo rested his head on Layla's shoulder as he watched the TV.

Hazel luckily didn't see them, since she was asleep, because she probably would've been very upset.

Max noticed her sleeping after a bit, leaning closer into him.

Layla leaned into Theo. She tilted her head slightly to look at Hazel. 'She's sleeping.'

Theo glanced at Hazel. "Guess she has. Jet lag." He chuckled.

Layla nodded, smiling. 'How close were you too? When you were in Australia?'
(layla's too kind i feel like she should be a snob but idk lol) -
(Hmmm maybe have it be a thing where she has a different personality for every person she talks to or something, so when she finds out Hazel and him used to be together she's like "Well f--- this, she's competition now" and acts shady behind his back)
Theo debated how to answer for a while. On one hand, it was awkward admitting they used to be together, but on the other hand, he was devoted to her, and it was a year ago, after all. He decided to tell her the truth. "We were together for most of it." He shrugged. "So pretty close."
