Layla nodded, not saying anything. Her open palms clenched into a fist.

Hazel raised an eyebrow and nodded slowly, turning her attention back to the tv. ‘Okay.’

Theo and Max eventually came back with some bread. Max offered Hazel a roll, and Theo broke half of his roll off for Layla.

Hazel smiled and took a roll from Max. She was going to say something about Layla, but decided against it

Max smiled, taking a bite of his own. Layla grinned once Theo walked in and grabbed her half of the roll, turning back to the movie.

Hazel raised an eyebrow at Layla, before sighing and returning her attention to the tv.

Max noticed her sighing. "You ok?" He asked quietly.

Hazel gave a weak smile and nodded.

Max gave her a skeptical look. "If you're sure..."

Hazel focused on the tv, taking a bite from her roll.

Max sighed, wishing she could just tell him what was wrong.
Layla snuggled further into Theo, and he just let her, kissing the top of her head. -
Hazel glanced at them, clenching her roll. She suddenly stood up. ‘Where’s the bathroom?’

"Down the hall on the ri-"
"I'll walk you." Max offered, standing up. "If that's alright with you?" -
‘Sure,’ Hazel said, smiling.

Max stood up, offering her his hand.
