imsoclueless SeniorEllie groaned as she stirred awake and sat up slightly, rubbing her eyes. "That did not feel like 5 more minutes," she muttered as she fully sat up, rubbing her face. She moved the blanket off her lap, standing and stretching. She quickly grabbed her things, following Joel out of the building.
-
"Hey, I don't make the rules." He chuckled. The backpack felt a little bit more heavier on his shoulder. He started walking down the road, the sun glaring in his eyes. "So, are you ready to meet some old friends of mine?"
-
imsoclueless Senior"I guess, sure," Ellie replied, crossing her arms over her chest as she followed Joel.
-
Joel shook his head, and continued walking. Soon enough they would be at their destination.

Joel and Ellie had arrived on the outskirts of the town they needed to be in. As always, there was a high fence with barbed wire on top. There was about a dozen infected bombarding the fence. Joel felt something was off, but he didn't want to think about it. He looked at Ellie for a moment, and though to himself We could go in guns blazing, but that would lead every Clicker within this radius our way. But there isn't a way to sneak in either. As he wondered about what to do, the sounds of gun fire could be heard. One by one each clicker fell. Joel could see the glint of a sniper rifle in the distance in the top of one of the houses. -
imsoclueless Senior"So, what's the plan here, old man," Ellie asked, looking over at Joel.
-
"Stay hidden for now. I think Bill has it under control." Joel said, his voice barely heard over the shots of gunfire. The Clickers dropped, almost like dominos. Joel took a deep breath, leading Ellie back toward the tree-line they had just come from. In about five minutes time, all of the Clickers had been taken care of. "Just walk out slowly, hands raised. Bill knows who I am, but we don't want to unsettle him either." Joel walked back out toward the fence, his hands raised in 'surrender'. "Hey Bill!" He yelled, his voice now echoed around the town, and seeming to echo off the trees. "It's Joel!!!" He and Ellie waited for a moment, as an older gentleman around Joel's age walked out of a older white house, near the front of the fence.
-
imsoclueless SeniorEllie followed close by Joel, doing as he told.
(ahh braindead, sorry lmao) -
(It's okay!)
As Bill walked up to Joel and Ellie, he sat the sniper rifle on the ground. "Who's this?" He said, motioning to Ellie. "And where is the girl that normally travels with you?" Joel looked at Bill, and shook his head. "Tess...didn't make it. And this is Ellie." He said, motioning to her. "We swung by because we were wondering if any Fireflies came by here. Perhaps a group of them." Bill shook his head. "Haven't seen any in a while. I might be able to radio somebody that might know. Follow me, and make yourselves comfortable." Bill started to walk toward the house he came out of.
The outside of it seemed unkempt, which Joel wasn't used to. There were normally flowers growing in the mulch that was around the house greenhouse that was near-by looked deserted. Before Joel forgot, he closed the fence behind him and Ellie, and caught up with Bill. "Is everything okay?" He asked. Bill looked at him, and just shook his head. "Later " Bill opened the door to the house, and Joel walked inside. -
Ellie followed Joel inside the house, looking around. "So, how do you know this guy?" She asked Joel in a low voice, looking over at the older man.
-
Joel looked at Ellie as Bill walked further into his house. "Me and Bill met a while back. Almost killed each other." Joel chuckled at the memory. "Then we set up a trading route. Me and Tess would swing by, trade a couple of things with Bill and Frank. We would eat dinner with them, then head out. Was like that for a couple of years. Then, I settled down in the city."
-
Ellie nodded, watching Bill for a moment. "He doesn't seem like a very, welcoming, guy," she muttered, turning back to look at Joel as she crossed her arms.
-
"You know, just because I am old and for away doesn't mean I can't hear you." Bill looked at Ellie, then at Joel and motioned them into his living room. It was a fairly big room that had a fireplace, and a couple of chairs for lounging in. Bill sat down, nodding to Joel and Ellie to do the same. Bill took a deep breath as Joel sat down in the same chair he taken root in many times before, but this felt different. Bill seemed heavy.
Joel looked at Bill, and then Ellie. "What's on your mind?" He asked his old friend. "Well, let's start with the good news. You know that blue and white truck of Frank's you've always wanted?" Bill asked, a somberness hidden behind his eyes. "It's yours." Bill took the keys out of his pocket, and tossed them at Joel. "Second, Frank....is no longer with us. He died about a month ago." Joel shifted in his seat. His heart, dropping in his chest. "What happened?" Bill shook his head. "Old age, and his sickness caught up with him." Bill pulled a letter out of his pocket. "Frank also wanted me to give this to you, and since Tess....is also no longer with us, I guess you can have this." Bill stood up, and walked out of the room. It was a couple of minutes before he returned. He handed Ellie a curved dagger. The handle was made out of multi-colored wood. The blades curvature was just enough to make any enemy crumble. "When you are ready to head out, let me know. I'm leaving this place behind. There's nothing here for me any more." Bill sat back down, as Joel thought about the letter Bill just gave him, and the news about Frank. -
Ellie took the dagger, turning it in her hands as she admired it. "Hm, thanks, I guess," she murmured, pocketing the weapon.
-
Bill stood up, heading toward his kitchen. "I'm going to make us some dinner. You all can stay and freshen up if you want." Joel looked at Ellie and nodded. A shower sounded good right now, and he wouldn't mind a change of clothes. He had been here one to many times, so he knew where everything was. "I'm going to freshen up." Joel looked at Ellie. "If you get lost, just yell Marco " He semi-chuckled at his own joke. "In all seriousness though, there is a room on the second floor that should have some clothes you can change into. I'm going to go on a closet raid myself. If you need to take a shower, there's another one on the second floor as well. I call dibs on the first floor."
-
Ellie nodded and turned, looking around for a moment before setting off to find the room Joel mentioned.
(sorry braindead :'))
