Ellie nodded and carefully made her way over to the hole, occasionally glancing back at Joel to make sure he’s okay.
-
Joel quickly followed behind Ellie. He could hear shouts from the individuals that were with the guys that had drive the truck. Maybe, and just maybe if they play their cards right, they could sneak around without a fight. Joel externally knew that was a slim chance, but he had to at least hope. It sounded like their were too many of them. He and Ellie might just have to go out, guns blazing and hope for the best. He crept up toward the end of the building, making sure ti stay hidden from sight. He peeked around the corner, quickly. Just to get a glance of what was waiting for them on the other side. In the middle of the road they were just on, their were six individuals. It looked like three were armed with guns, one had a machete and the other two had knives.
Joel looked at Ellie and whispered, "We are going to go out there and open fire. I want you to aim for the three with the close ranged weapons. I'll take out the guys with the guns. Got it?" -
“Wh- Like, right f---in’ now?!” Ellie whisper-shouted, fear beginning to seep into her voice.
-
Joel nodded. "Look, I know it's scary. Sometimes, I still get terrified, but if we tag team this, we'll be able to do this together." He looked at her as the people drew closer. "I'm here. I promise I won't let anything happen to you." He said, gripping his hands tightly around the pistol. "On the count of three?" He asked her.
-
Ellie nodded and pulled out her pistol, trying to calm her shaking hands.
-
Joel put his fingers up. He started with one, and before he knew it, he was at three. He leapt from the building full force, taking out the men with guns, not before a bullet grazed the side of his chest though. He winced, almost dropping his pistol. He saw a building across from the one they had been in before, and he headed toward it. He gritted his teeth, knowing that he bullet had to have grazed him pretty deep.
-
Ellie jumped out and shot at the other men with guns, managing to kill them easier than expected. They followed after Joel, keeping an eye on their backs to make sure no one snuck up on them.
-
Joel winced as he made his way into the building, holding his side. He should be fine, but for now the struggle was going to be finding some place safe to stay, and making it out of here alive. The building he had entered seemed small, but there was an open shelf, that had some gauze, and anti-biotic ointment. "Damn, I must be one lucky son of a b----." Joel chuckled. He grabbed them, and quickly stuffed it into his bag. He was going to have to wait to use it, because he heard voices on the other side of the wall to the building.
-
“Are you okay?” Ellie asked in a hushed voice, staying close by his side and watching to make sure no one snuck up on them.
-
"Be fine." Joel said quickly. "It's just a graze. Just hurts." He said, trying to stay quiet. If he and Ellie could get by with it, he didn't want to have to kill anyone else. He hoped the voices that were next door would just go away. Joel listened carefully. It only sounded like two of them. If it came to it, they could fight. Joel looked around the room, and noticed a door leading to another room. He motioned over to it so Ellie could see. "We should see what's in there." He said.
-
Ellie looked in the direction Joel pointed, nodding slowly and nervously.
-
Joel made his way over to the door, his side ringing in pain. He opened it slowly, making sure not to alert the people that were on the opposite side of them. He snuck in, and motioned Ellie inside.
-
Ellie followed Joel closely, keeping any eye out in case someone tried to sneak up on them.
-
As the Joel peered inside, the door closing behind Ellie; he noticed a body laying on the counter. It was something he didn't want to look at, but at the same time he couldn't take his eyes away. It looked like these Raiders had been murdering people. Joel shook his head, and made his way past the table with the body on it. Now that he thought about it, if he and Ellie weren't careful, that could have been them.
-
Ellie followed close behind Joel, avoiding looking at the body at all costs.
