Jack started walking to the dining hall after he got dressed and Cain followed listing his duties for the day. "At high moon count Carmellia has requested your presence at his gazebo. He is hosting an event for the obtaining of a Flemish Giant Rabbit for his farm." Cain read from the list. Jack smiled "an event after all this turmoil. I'm sure my neck will heal fast enough especially with the aid of some blood." Jack said.

Mildred mumbled under her breath as she walked back to her room and sat on the bed. 'A true kerfuffle this is,' she said to the wall, still a bit fazed. 'What on Earth could've happened to it?' She'd heard her mother say kerfuffle once, and to Mildred it was fun to say.
-
Jack sat in the dining room listening to his duties for the day and waiting to ring the bell so he could get his breakfast from Wilhelm. Cain rambled on as jack played with his napkin. The most notable thing was the party today. He'd have to tell Mildred
-
Mildred pulled out Frederick's diary from under her bed and flipped ahead a few pages. She wanted to find out what a vampire's eye could do, and why Frederick had taken Jack's, and why Jack seemed to hate him so much. She'd figured taking someone's eye out would be reason enough, but there was most likely something else.
-
The journal entry Mildred had flipped to went as follows.
"Dear diary, today my notes finally got to that stubborn old vampire and he agreed to be my lover. I teased him about it at first mercilessly but I'm glad he liked me enough, if he got tired of me he'd eat me alive, or worse, send me back home. Today I insisted me and him start our relationship with a kiss but he was too shy for it so we just hugged. He then showed me his brother. In a box. That's right diary, Jack not only has a brother but a weird one that sleeps in a glass coffin at the bottom his dungeon with a knife in his chest. I don't think he's ever weirded me out to this extent but it's fine as long as he's mine. I really love him diary."
Meanwhile Jack finally rang the bell and scared the bejeezus out of Wilhelm. "Young Lord, what did you do to your neck?" The chef shouted. "I was thirsty and couldn't sleep." Jack said sheepishly -
Mildred was very confused. She read over the entry twice, trying to think what Frederick could've done to lose Jack's trust. Taking his eye out probably, but why would he do such a thing if they were lovers? Mildred turned the page.
-
The next entry went as follows
"Dear diary, I swear Jack is so dense sometimes.he asked me to sleep in his COFFIN if he wants to sleep in the same place as me he's gonna have to sleep in a bed. He is a really sweet lover though, he got these rare flowers for me called ghost flowers. Today when we had lunch his old cook spilled soup all over me so I shouted at him. Jack scolded both of us. He was easy to calm down with a kiss on the cheek. I wish he'd stop trying to be the most emo boy in continent but I think we'll be together for awhile."
Meanwhile Wilhelm scolded jack for his brash behavior and carried out a pitcher of blood for the prince to drink which he did. "My lord, today is sweet rolls with scrambled quail eggs." Wilhelm announced for the food. "Thank you Wilhelm." Jack said -
Mildred chuckled at the "emo boy" part. The two seemed like a nice couple. They probably were before Frederick did some horrible things. She closed the journal and returned it to under her bed, then walked back to the library to look for the lost book. Once again, she had no luck.
-
Jack ate and thought of his nightmare. It sent shivers down his back. He drank the blood to calm the drought in his throat and started eating
-
Mildred kicked the ground, which made the leather on the bottom of her left shoe tear more. She sighed. 'I'm going nuts!' she exclaimed, walking through the aisles the bookshelves made. 'Like a squirrel! And I hate nuts!'
-
Suddenly, in the library, a book fell seemingly from the ceiling. Jack finished his breakfast quickly and walked to the throne room. He watched the halls as he walked through. His neck had already healed fairly well. He watched the maids rush through the halls doing their nightly chores.
-
Mildred heard a crash somewhere next to another shelf. She walked towards the sound and frowned, then picked up the book. 'Huh,' she muttered. 'Books don't just fall from the sky.' She turned it over and flipped through it. It was the same book she'd lost.
-
The book had a picture drawn on the page that Mildred left off on. Jack sat on the throne and read through his paperwork. There wasn't anything particularly interesting
-
Mildred flipped to where she'd put her bookmark. Someone had drawn all over the page. 'Wha-' Mildred stuttered, trying to rub it off with her sleeve but ending up smudging it. 'What a wicked trick,' she said grumpily, then walked off to go see Jack. He'd probably know something about it, she'd concluded. She knocked on the door of the throne room.
-
Guards opened the doors to the throne room. Jack was doing is paperwork full of boredom, occasionally rubbing the gashes he'd made on his neck. He was tired of paperwork but that was a lot of being king
