Callum checked his phone. 'We've only got 5 minutes till school's over, anyway. What do you want to talk about?'

“Depends on if you’ve got an idea for the story.”

'Not yet, sorry.'

Eli sighed. “In that case…… truth or dare?”

'Truth.'

“Why’d you come to this school?”

'Because...' Callum thought about that for a moment. He didn't want Eli to be freaked out if he told them the truth, so he just said, 'My family moved away, and our new house is in the catchment for this school.'

Eli didn’t know why, but he didn’t think Callum was telling the truth, but decided not to press him on it. “Oh, ok. What’s your new house like?”

'Well, two storeys and a blue door,' Callum said, the lie slipping from his lips easily.

“Ooo, cool! Have you got all the room decor done?”

'Kind of. There are still some things to unpack, but mostly.'

“Cool, what’s in your room?” Eli asked. “Besides boxes.”

'A bed, bookshelf, and a desk.'

“Oh, cool.” Eli said, not knowing what else to say.
