"I see. Practice if you can." Lares frowned slightly. "I guess this is goodbye for now. When shall we meet again?"

"Any time is fine with me," she said as she put the three arrows into her quiver.

"Tomorrow? Noon?" Lares asked.

"Sounds good," she said. "Goodbye, Your Highness." She turned and started walking off the training grounds.

Lares followed her slim figure trudging off into the horizon until she turned and Lares couldn’t see her anymore.

Erina moved her long brown curls out of her face as she headed home. She couldn't believe what she had done today.

Lares's gold hair was draped below his eyes, tousled by the exercise.

The next day, after eating, she went on her way to the training grounds to meet with Lares. -
Lares had prepared his bow and quiver already. He saw a figure approaching him and figured that it must be Erina. He greeted her with an enthusiastic "Hello."

"Hello," she responded. She saw that he had his bow and quiver ready and quietly did the same.

His eyes sparkled. "Did you practice?" he asked.

"I did," she said. "I didn't do very well, though."

"It's okay, everyone improves. If you didn’t get better, you still have room to improve. If you’re top dog at everything, you won’t have room to improve." Lares reviewed aiming and how to hold the bow.

Erina nodded. "I think I was getting sloppy," she said.

"Remember, it’s not how consistently you can shoot arrows that counts, it’s how accurate and how far," Lares told her.
