Basil whined softly as he was comforted, relaxing against the wolf. He didn't want to move from that spot, he honestly could hardly move at all. So when Cyrus helped him up, he grit his teeth at the pain and his legs shook like an infant just starting to walk. Did Cyrus not realize their tails were extensions of their spines? The lamb grabbed onto the wolf when nearly fell over and slowly walked out with him, glaring at the surprised looks on the people's faces. They were all just as bad as the men that had done this to him. "I want all these people to suffer.." Basil mumbled through his teeth but softened immediately at the sound of Cyrus's voice. "Could you..? I can barely walk as it is.."
-
Cyrus was shocked to see Basil's expressions- he hadn't realized that the lamb would not be able to walk because he had lost some of his tail. Thinking for a quick moment, he scooped the other boy up like a man would hold his bride, securing the bleeding tail between two fingers that were closer to his bottom half. "I'll do that for you. And because you can't walk, I'll hold you. Don't mind the position," he added hastily. "It's just easier to hold your tail this way." Ignoring the onlookers, the alpha started to walk back towards the inn, holding the other in his arms. A few of the wolves that were waiting outside joined his side to keep some of the prying eyes off of them.
-
"It's fine, better than wobbling all over the place." Basil was relieved when the other lifted him up and rested his head against the wolf's shoulder, closing his eyes. "And what will you do for me..?" He asked softly, unsure if Cyrus meant he would hold his tail or harm those that had stood by while the warrior harassed them. He truthfully wished everything was just some bad dream and that when he opened his eyes, he'd be back home in his bed, tail in tact. But he knew that would never be the case; The pain itself was too real. Though he was glad to know that this pack of wolves were accepting of his presence and were willing to help him when he needed it most.
-
"I'm glad, then. Don't worry, the inn isn't too far. You weren't taken too far from us. For that, that man is a moron.. Molly had time to get us. But I should have just went in there and killed him instead of standing around waiting for you! I'm sorry, Basil.." Cyrus's ears flattened against his head to show how he felt- guilty, really. He knew he could have done better for Basil. A small sigh escaped the alpha's lips, and he smiled pitifully at the boy in his arms. "I can take care of your tail. The pack is doing a good job of terrifying the on-lookers for you." His blue eyes sparkled as he nodded over to the other wolves. They were glaring at anyone who peeked over, and though it looked a bit silly from Cyrus's point of view, it got people to mind their own business and continue on. "I doubt we need to hurt this many people. Just scaring them should be enough."
-
"You should've slaughtered him.. I'm surprised you didn't right away. Maybe I'd still have a tail." Basil didn't mean to make the other feel guilty, but he could sense it and nuzzled the wolf's shoulder for reassurance. "..We'll hunt him. And steal from him. What do you think of that?" The lamb carefully reached up to pet the wolf's ears and head, snorting lightly at the comment about scaring the crowd away. "They watched.. They just sat there and watched while he grabbed Molly, and it was if they let him through to wherever he wanted to go. Not a single person bothered to say or do anything. He wasn't strong, Cyrus, a group of my kind could've broken him down. And if I'd had horns..." The smaller sighed, feeling a bit light-headed from blood loss. "Please hurry..It's bleeding a lot.."
-
"Trust me, I'm surprised myself. I had enough anger, I could have shifted and seriously gobbled him up, but I didn't.." Cyrus accepted the nuzzles contently, sighing. He wished that he had saved the lamb before it had been too late. All the wolf could do was think about how grateful he was that the other was still alive when he arrived. "Sure. I got a first name, and perhaps sometime later, we can look into him. We'll steal his happiness.. Whatever the hell that might be for him, we'll steal it like he stole your tail," Cyrus grinned as his ears were pet. "They're all weak scum. We're the top dogs.. And lamb. Don't worry your pretty head over it. I'm sure they could have." He nodded to the smaller boy, starting to walk at a faster pace. "Rodger."
-
"Maybe you didn't want to scare little ole me.." The lamb prince smiled at the thought of hunting the warrior, stripping everything from him for stealing his tail. "What is it? I want to spit it in his face the next time we see him.. He was easily untangled by mere words. He wanted to..to take me, Cyrus. But he was as dead and limp as he could be. All because of what I said to him about being weak." Basil was feeling sore around the base of his tail and lower back. He wanted nothing more to get cleaned up and rest. "...Cyrus? When you're done treating, will you bring Molly to me?"
-
"Oh, definitely. You might have had a heart attack if I had." Cyrus grinned at the smaller boy's smile, pleased to see that he had found something to be happy about finally. The other's smile could light up a whole room, even. At least, that's what the wolf thought when he looked down at him. "Harold.. You can also legit spit in his face, if you want to. We'll make his life a living hell once we find him." The alpha sneered at the thought, pleased at what he had come up with. "Heh. He wouldn't have touched you. Men like that aren't worth anyone's time if he has to prey on the weak.." He paused. "Sure."
-
(Just staying on this one cause dun wanna switch)
"I wouldn't have wanted that. Then you'd have to make sure I'm okay physically and mentally." Basil listened carefully to the wolf and snickered at the mention of the man's name, finding something so bland and uninteresting to be the name of a self-proclaimed warrior. "I will spit of him, no worries. We'll make his life hell then send him there. That sounds ideal.." He couldn't stop smiling when he was with Cyrus, feeling completely secure in the other's arms. "He honestly didn't even try. He really made me angry when he mentioned something about doing the same to Molly...But she's safe here with the pack. That's all that matters." Basil hummed, watching as he was carried to their room. "Thank you." -
(lol alright it's cool yo)
"Bah, I'm sure you would have made it through a little scare. I'm not that big of a wolf just yet, though I don't think I'll get too much bigger by the looks of things.. I would have scared that wuss more than you, I'm sure," Cyrus hummed when they reached the Inn's entrance. He shoved the door open, laughing a bit. "I'll join you! Of course, we can do that. Well, okay, we'll try to. Let's not end up in hell ourselves... If we do, let's do it together, okay?" His tail wagged at the thought of seeing that Harold guy scared. A laugh escaped him as he imagined the man trying to run from him and Basil. They would tear into him, possibly literally, and make him pay for all that he had done. "I'm glad he didn't. Imagine if he had.." Cyrus shuddered unhappily. "You're welcome, little lamb-- I mean, Basil." -
"I told him that he didn't know what you were capable of. He acted like a know-it-all. But he's a fool because he messed with a pack of wolves. You're scary enough as you are, I don't want you to get massive. Then I might actually have a heart attack.." Basil grinned up at him with a giggle. "Even when we die, we will return. We will become eternal. Don't you think it'll be fun? Living forever?" He knew that such a thing would never be possible, but he liked the idea of it. Though he felt it would be a lonely existence between the two of them. He was relieved to finally be inside the inn, away from the on-lookers. He frowned at the thought. "I would have tried to cut him down with his own sword.." He smiled again, leaning against his shoulder. "You're the only one allowed to call me that, dear wolf."
-
"And he sure didn't. The look on his face when he saw me was.. Perfect. He looked scared for a moment, at least until he saw you. My poor, innocent little lamb.. He'll see what I'm capable of. I promise," Cyrus grunted at Basil's comment. "You might have. Wolves are just large dogs, though. And fiercer. Mm, Perhaps. Being able to see all of the changes to this world, maybe even striking down people like that man.. Why, I'd rather like the idea. But only if it's you and me and not only one of us." The alpha felt attached to Basil, and as he held the other in his arms, the attachment felt stronger than ever. For having only known the lamb prince for two days, it was shockingly strong. He wanted it to get stronger. "Oh, would you have? Can you even pick up a sword?" Cyrus teased the other lightly. "Fantastic."
-
"That's why it was so easy to get away. He probably got so scared he nearly wet himself. You'd better keep that promise. Don't make that sound at me. I don't know how big wolves can get. It would be hard to adjust to all the new things that the future holds, but at least we would learn about them as they come about." Basil loved the idea of being at Cyrus's side forever and nodded lightly. "Never one without the other.." The lamb snorted at the wolf's teasing, flicking his nose lightly. "I'm not that weak. I bet I could lift a sword no problem."
-
"When you're scared, you do tend to have the strength to run faster," Cyrus agreed with the lamb, laughing. "I stick to my promises. You and I can probably take care of him one day, when the pack is off on its feet and we have enough strength to survive on our own. Heh, I don't know that much about sheep and lamb either. Perhaps you could do me a favor and teach me a few things about your species and I can return the favor." The alpha gently set the other boy down on their bed, slowly pulling his hand away. He darted to the bathroom to get some supplies to wrap up Basil's tail. He returned to the other's side, sitting beside him. He recoiled when his nose was flicked. "We'll test that when you're all better."
-
"I don't run faster, I just have longer strides. He honestly shouldn't have been able to stop me from moving at all. He had to trip me like a coward. He'd never catch me in a race." The smaller male huffed and pouted up at the other. "Do we really have to leave the pack..? You're their alpha, they need you. And we can talk more about race later. I'm sure you can listen in while I tell Molly stories." Basil made sure he was on his stomach to avoid making a mess and to keep pressure off the nub. He rested his head into one of the pillows while he waited for the wolf to return and smiled once he did. He narrowed his eyes at Cyrus. "Don't underestimate me, dear wolf."
