"I know you will be. And he's such a child. It's both cute and annoying at the same time though." Basil admitted than paid attention to what was going on at the moment. He knew Molly was uneasy about the man before them, and the lamb was more than a little suspicious by what he was saying. He narrowed his pale eyes at the other, standing firmly in place. He knew he was gullible and oblivious sometimes, but he didn't believe a word the other said. "Oh really? If that's the case, then who was it? What did they look like?"
-
"Well, he's better than nothing. And he's strong when he's well rested, mad.. He's been here for us for a while. Came from nothing and made all of us something. It's nice to see him not being a meanie butt!" Molly chirped, despite the fact that she was not very happy about the man in front of them. She turned her attention to him, though, squinting. "Yeah, what do they look like?"
The warrior, used to being doubted, cracked a smile and held up his hand to show their height. "They're about this tall, with long brown hair, beautiful brown eyes, and a dress in a color similar to this young lady's," he explained, dropping his hand to his side. "She was expressing something about needing to give her daughter her coat. I'd only assume that she was talking about.. You," he nodded towards Molly.
Molly sucked in a breath, sighing unhappily. "That sounds like my mom all right." -
Basil made a note to think about what Molly said about the alpha wolf. Cyrus wasn't all bad, but he could get mean, clearly from the bandages on his arm. The wolf had shown some form of concern about the wound later on and had wished that it would heal well. He shook his head lightly at what the other was saying, taking a step back. "Even if that's true, we can make our way back without you. Or she'll send the coat with our other companion." The lamb's tail twitched as he turned to try to walk away, knowing that this was likely a trick.
-
Molly knew that by the look on Basil's face that he was thinking about what she had said, though she wished for a moment that she could see inside of his head. She wanted to know what he thought of the alpha, after hearing what had to be said. A smile crossed her lips, though it was quite small. She felt the light pull coming from Basil as he tried to walk away.
The warrior sighed, his hand on his armored hip. He had to think of something else to say; it was true that he had spoken to Molly's mother, though it certainly wasn't about any coat. But there were simply no lies coming to mind. He glanced around, then put his hands on their shoulders, leaning in. This time, his voice was sweet, but cold at the same time. "I'd rather think you'd like to follow me or we're going to have some problems. And believe me, you don't want to have problems." He smirked when he saw Molly's tail flinch between her legs- a sign of fear. -
The lamb prince tensed when he felt a hand on his shoulder, turning his head to glare at the other and cringing at his tone. "Are you threatening us..? And over something as simple as a coat. We don't need you to accompany us, so please leave." Basil huffed and tugged his shoulder free, despite the fact that his own tail was slipped between his legs out of fear. He knew there wasn't much he could but he could get Molly to safety if he needed to.
-
The warrior's grip tightened, and Molly squealed a bit at the pain in her shoulder. He shook his head, moving to grip only Molly as Basil squirmed away. "You knew I was lying, so it's obvious I'm not doing this over a coat. How about you come with me and this lovely young lady?" Before Basil could say anything, the man turned around with the pup in his grasp. The little wolf struggled, kicking and squirming, but his grip was too tight for her to fight. No one around went to stop them, or cared to.
"Basil!" She cried. "Basil!" -
Basil felt the pup be pulled from him and turned on the other, taking a few long strides and grabbing hold of one of his plated shoulders. "Let her go..! You're a disgusting creature, using a child as a means of blackmail.." The lamb began shaking both with anger and fear for Molly's safety. "Let her go, then I'll go with you. Of course, I'll also go after you tell me what you really want from us."
-
The warrior shook Basil off, nearly ignoring him. "I don't need to tell you anything more than I'll kill the brat if you don't come along." Without another word, he took off, dragging the pup with him. She squealed unhappily, smacking her hands against his armor. "Basil, run! Go away!" Molly tried to duck under him, though he lightly swat her head like an owner did to their dogs. He took a sudden turn, heading for a closed shop. Molly's tail was visible for a short second behind them before it disappeared with the man.
-
Basil grit his teeth and hurried after the man, refusing to let the pup get her. He knew he'd regret it later, if he was still alive, but at the moment her life was more important to him. He wanted to make sure Molly was safe and as far away from the warrior as possible. Maybe she could send Cyrus their way before anything severe happened to him. Though he could only hope for such a miracle.
-
The warrior paused at the door, his hands on Molly's squirming shoulders. When he saw Basil in the corner of his eye, he moved to grasp a key and open the door. He roughly shoved her in, then waited for Basil to get closer before he shoved him in as well. He took no time in following suit, closing and locking the door. He turned to the two of him, clasping his hands together. "I couldn't help but notice that you both had some gorgeous tails," he hummed, looking at them both. "Your kinds aren't seen much back at my land. They would be worth.. Well, a lot."
"I ain't giving you my tail," Molly barked. -
The smaller male scoffed when he was shoved inside after the pup and turned to glare at the other after gathering himself. At thought of the other wanting to take and sell their tails, the lamb reached behind to hold his own, unsure of how painful the removal would truly be. It would cut through bone, which Basil was sure to be the worst pain possible. He couldn't stand for Molly to go through that and inhaled deeply. "..She's a wolf. There's plenty of her kind all over. Her tail wouldn't be worth as much as a lamb's, don't you think? Let her go, and I'll give you whatever you want..." He trailed off a bit at the end, sure that the warrior wouldn't bargain with him. But he needed to get the pup away from harm, he'd promised to do so.
-
He sneered at Basil, cracking his knuckles as if he were getting into a fight and had to prepare himself. "Where I come from, trust me, there is nothing but sea, fish, and perhaps some birds. Wolves, lambs, rabbits.. They aren't common there. Unless they're traveling. Which, by the sound of the conversations that I've picked up, you're traveling with a wolf pack. It only makes sense for me to take the two that left on their own.. A weak, innocent child, and a lamb." He suddenly stomped his foot, pulling out his sword from its sheath and prodding Basil's chin with it. The warrior tilted his head at the other male, curious. "Why do you want her to go so much? She's not of your kind, obviously. There are other wolves there in that pack. I saw the lot. And are you really willing to do anything? I'd like that tail for a decor, you know.. Fluffy things are always fun to have on sale."
-
Basil's curiosity about mermaids came to mind at the mention of a land of sea and fish, but he refrained from asking questions about it. This man wasn't his friend, he was a beast that threatened their lives over a body part. He flinched when the blade poked his chin. "It doesn't matter if she's my kind, she's still a child. She doesn't deserve any of this. And clearly you're not very strong if you prey on the weak." The lamb spat then averted his eyes. "Anything. If you let her go, unharmed, I'll do anything. I made a promise that I'll do anything to keep."
-
Molly's eyes widened when she saw the so-called warrior advance on the lamb. She moved, trying to push the blade away; the tips of her fingers caught on the blade, and the man only laughed at her as she sat down and sucked on the light cuts that were there. He pulled it away, keeping it drifting at his side. "You prey on the weak to draw out the strong. Then you kill them and make yourself stronger. Put your brain to use, little lamb. I'm positive you have one." He looked down to Molly for a moment, clicking his tongue. His eyes were locked on her fingers.
"It's a bit late for her not being harmed, but if you're one to your word, I can release her now. Find another precious tail.." The man sighed, moving over behind her. "Rise, mutt." Molly quickly stood up, looking at Basil with wide eyes. Her expression showed her fear at leaving him behind. "Basil," she whispered. "Don't." -
The lamb comforted Molly when she cut her fingers, checking to make sure they were in tact. So long as they were all in one piece, he would take care of them later. He didn't bother responding to the other, knowing that Cyrus would tear the warrior apart. The smaller actually snorted at the thought of this man beating the alpha wolf without his precious sword and armor. "You're still not very strong. That's why you need armor. I do have a brain, and it seems it's working just fine." Basil gave him a serious stare in response to what he said about the lamb keeping his word. "I always stay to my word. You'd probably just kill me if I tried to run anyway." His attention was pulled to the pup and he gave her a weak smile, hugging her and whispering back. "Go to your mother and alpha. You know how he gets."
