Basil's face deepened at the comment of him wearing a 'dress', even though it barely covered his privates. If he bent over, he had no doubt he'd be completely exposed. Shifting a bit where he sat on the bed, he tugged the shirt down to remain covered. "Well, it's big, definitely, but it's still not that big on me." The lamb froze when he felt a lump stir behind him. No, two lumps. Then some small noises, whining almost. He feared that he may have sat on Trinity's pups by mistake and turned to check on them, sighing in relief when the twins crawled from under the blankets. "O-Oh.. I think I woke them. Sorry... Sorry, little pups.." He murmured and slowly reached back to pet their heads.
The boy, Emil, smiled and reached up to lightly grab Basil's hand, giving it a small lick. "Mamaaa.." He hummed before getting comfortable at the prince's side. Jordanna quickly followed suit, snuggling up beside her brother. Basil simply stared at them in surprise, unsure of what to say or do in response. -
HACKER XD NewbieTrinity realized a bit too late that Basil had been embarrassed by his comment. He covered his mouth, stifling a laugh. The lamb was one of the sweetest males the wolf had met in a long time. Pure and innocent. A small chuckle escaped his lips as he watched the smaller tug the shirt down. "Oh, I don't know. It looks pretty big on you, prince. I..." He trailed off, blinking at the movement behind Basil. Crossing his arms, he walked over, his tail starting to swish slightly. With a fascinated look, Trinity watched as the pups instantly swarmed over the lamb. Upon hearing the word 'mother' escape his son's lips, the wolf dropped his arms to lean on the bed. "I believe you just made two little friends.. I wonder if.." Again, he trailed off, his nose twitching. He felt like Basil had a motherly touch. It was possible they thought of him like that. Like a mother. Trinity sighed, looking away. "Do you mind them? I can move them, if you need me to."

Basil pouted when he heard the other laugh quietly at him and huffed, focusing on the dozing pups at his side. He was gently petting their heads, watching their breathing slow as they began to drift off. He still didn't know how to react about being called mama, a reminder of what Cyrus said to him about being like a shewolf. Minus the strength that those mothers surely had. The lamb looked up at Trinity, never stopping his petting. "I guess so.. Maybe they're thinking 'daddy thinks he's okay, so we think he's okay, too'. Kids often feel comfortable around most people their parents are comfortable around." Basil wanted to ask the wolf to finish what he was going to say, but decided it'd be best not to in case it was something that upset him. He smiled and began to carefully shift, trying to lie down and move the pups. "No, they're fine. I just..need to get comfortable myself. They can stay with me."

(that massive gap where we were writing on Skype--)
"Did she have thorns like a rose, too?" Basil asked softly, smiling up at the other. He could see just how much Trinity had loved his mate, and the look on his face showed that he was taking the time to remember her. One of the few things the lamb respected about wolves was their devotion to their mates. His heart sank as he thought about Cyrus, wondering if this was the way he would treat a mate. He quickly dismissed the thought, remembering that he was nothing more than a toy to the alpha. Maybe Cyrus would actually care for a mate. Basil sucked on his lower lip and nodded at Trinity in response to his question. "If you don't mind talking about it.." -
(I cry every time)
"Physically, her claws were sharper than a rose. Her personality was anything but sharp, though. She was always kind, and never really snapped. Even if the pups did something wrong, it was a gentle scolding. It made them feel bad about what they did so they would never do it again." Trinity rubbed his chin, thinking intensely about the matter. He could recall every moment that the pups had gotten scolded by their mother, and remembered their sad looks every time she would speak to them. It also reminded him of a time when Rose had scolded Cyrus. He sighed, closing his eyes as he remembered that past. "We were.. On a hunting party. The strongest hunters in the clan, including Rose and one other she-wolf, had been invited to come. Cyrus was drunk that night, as he had stolen a drink from his earlier prey. When we found a camp and tried to raid it, he.. Turned on us instead. Rose told him to stop, to go back to the others and rest. He shifted, and.." Trinity sighed, rubbing his forehead. "He attacked her. She had no warning. When Cyrus realized what he had done, it was too late." He closed his eyes. "She died under his claws and teeth. He's been such an angry person since then. I've tried to forgive him, to help him calm down, but.. He cared about Rose a lot, as much as I'd hate to admit it. I think her death broke him a bit." -
Basil simply lie there, listening to Trinity talk while Felicity continued to treat his injuries. The she-wolf his new friend described sounded so familiar, and it made him feel homesick. It made his heart ache as he thought of the way his own mother had been. Sure the queen of lambs didn't have razor-sharp claws or scary teeth, but Basil knew that his mother and Rose's personalities were similar. She did everything to protect the young lambs in their society without weapons, and even educated and disciplined them. "Your mate sounds a lot like my mom.. I wish she were still around. I think I'd feel better being here with someone like her. Or maybe...none of this would've happened.. She probably would've stopped Cyrus from..." The young prince's eyes began to water as memories of home came back to him, as well as the idea that maybe if Rose were still around, Cyrus would've treated him better. Treated his fellow lambs better. Basil choked back a sob and buried his head in a pillow, reaching up to grip it as he began to shake. He knew the she-wolf's death was a mistake, an accident, but fear still pierced through the lamb at what the pack leader could and would do. "I don't..wanna die.." He murmured as he took deep, rigid breaths to try to calm himself. "If he can do that to someone important to him, then... Please, Trinity, keep him away from me. Keep him away for good..!"
