"Thank you, my prince," Trinity dipped his head slightly to the other. He knew that in the pack, Basil was no longer a prince, but he wanted to call him that anyway. He wanted to treat the other as such- a lot of respect for everything. "I won't try to." He carried the other to the bathroom, seeing him down in the tub. He'd have to get more water. "You can keep the towel on if you'd like, Basil. We should have some dry ones somewhere in here." The older disappeared for a moment to find the towels, as he got new water prepared. Once he was done, he sat beside the other, new towel in hand. "How are you feeling right now?"
-
"Your prince.. That sounds a bit weird, honestly. I mean, some of the other sheep did talk like that back home but not very often, and they mostly worked for my family..." Basil trailed off, thinking he was boring the other. Regardless, it made him feel somewhat better to be recognized for his lineage, even if it didn't matter. His blood was important to his own society at least. "No one will ever think of me that way here. They'll just see me as.."little lamb". I hate that nickname more than anything." Basil slowly let go of the other as he was set in the tub, keeping his towel on until the water was prepared. "I'm sore. My legs feel numb. My lower back and butt hurt still.. I hope Molly grabs my pills, I forgot to ask."
-
"Does it? I thought it would be rather proper. You act like a prince- no offense, because it's rather sweet. If you don't mind, I'd like to call you that. And about 'little lamb'..." Trinity paused, pressing his finger to his lip. "I won't call you that. That's why I'm testing nicknames and proper titles for you. Is that alright?" He smiled faintly, tilting is head at the other. He didn't know why, but Basil was a whole new person. It wasn't just because of his species, why, his being was different. The older enjoyed it. "I'm sure she grabbed them. Speaking of the pills.. They did work, right?"
-
"I guess it's okay. If it's just you. And it's better than what some others would call me." Basil thought back to Cyrus, remembering how they'd settled on nicknames solely to tease each other. They'd gotten along so well that time, only for it to all be destroyed hours later. He thought he'd had someone strong to protect him, but every nice thing he'd done was erased by the one long and excrutiating night. He turned his attention back to Trinity, someone who he wanted trust but found it hard to because of what the alpha had done. Still, he gave the older wolf a small smile and nodded. "Thank you. I don't need a nickname though. You could just call me Basil, too." He paused for a moment to recall when he took his pills. It wasn't long ago at all. "They helped, but they can't stop everything from hurting, I guess."
-
"I can't promise I can stop the pups from copying, mind you. They do whatever their little hearts tell them to do. Though I am thankful I have your permission." Trinity was unsure of what Basil would call him. He had a simple name like Basil's. It didn't have much flare. Perhaps he would be just "Trinity". He sighed a little, nearly dazing off into his thoughts. He wondered what a friendship with the lamb would be like. The poor boy had only been with the pack for a day or two and had already been traumatized. He'd have to work hard to earn respect and trust. "Of course. Whatever you'd like," he rest his head on his knees. "Are you in pain now?"
-
"Oh? So they're like those birds that mimic something they hear over and over again?" Basil hummed, smiling warmly at the other before giving into the thought of another nickname. "I guess I don't mind so long as they're copying their father." Though the lamb would rather be on a first name basis with anyone and everyone, he was glad that at least Trinity wouldn't be calling him something that belittled him. He doubted he'd be able to think of a nickname suitable for the wolf, at least not at the moment. "My lower back and bottom hurt from last night. I might have to see that doctor again for an examination.." As much as he would rather not have someone poke around his insides, Basil was thankful that the doctor he would see, Felicity, was a woman. He doubted he'd have trust for any other man to look at him like that again.
-
"Well.. Yes, they're just like that. Only with certain nicknames or phrases, though. They're picky about that. Almost as picky as they are with food," Trinity laughed a bit, shaking his head. "I'd rather like to not be copied, you know. I don't think the pack needs two more Trinitys in their lives." He pulled up his legs to his chest, resting his head on his knees. Basil was the first man he felt as if he could be comfortable with. The lamb was sweet, like Molly. He hoped that their friendship would last longer than the one he and Cyrus had. "Hmm.. Cyrus said we're leaving soon. I might just have to carry you to her office." The older's face turned into a frown. He knew Cyrus had gone out to buy supplies. There was a high possibility he'd run into him if they went out. "Of course, we can ask for her to come, but if Cyrus sees her show up.. Mm, there's a bad chance of us running into him either way. But I can't just leave you in pain."
-
"Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if there were more of you in the pack. Or at least more wolves like you.." Basil admitted with a smile and moved to sink into the water, wetting his hair. Now that it wasn't a sick or rusty color, he felt comfortable washing his hair in the bath. He messaged shampoo into his hair while he listened to Trinity, glancing at him when he mentioned Cyrus and having to bump into him by chance. "...Having her come here would be best. That way he can't complain about you touching me. He's so jealous over nothing, even though I don't belong to anyone in particular. If he follows her here, I'll make sure he knows that I asked for her because of what he did." He grumbled, leaning back to rinse soap suds out of his hair. "Thank you for helping me, again. If you can get someone to get her, that would be wonderful.."
-
(wait
so Basil is 18, right? If Trin already has puppies... how old is he omg)
"There are certainly more wolves 'like me'," Trinity hummed as he watched Basil sink into the water. "They're just a bit too busy to greet you. All of that clothing that was left in your room yesterday... It was from the wolves like me. The ones who will appreciate you as a person, not as a food resource." He tilted his head a bit, brushing loose strands of hair away from his uncovered eye. Luckily, the water seemed to be a lot healthier during this second bath than the first one. The older would need to explain to a maid how to clean the disastrous room. Otherwise, the wolves might not be welcome there ever again. "Cyrus was seemingly angry at something earlier.. I don't think he sees you as a person, Basil. That doesn't matter, though. I'll keep him away from you." He smiled a little, watching Basil rinse ff his hair. "You're welcome. As soon as Molly gets back, I'll--"
"The maid wouldn't let me in the room!" A distressed, smaller voice cut Trinity off. "She said that she needs to clean it immediately. I asked her to give me the pill bottle if nothing else, but.. I'm afraid that we're going to have to wait." Molly seemed to pop up in the room, sniffling. "I've failed you."
"Oh, not at all," Trinity cooed to her. "We have another task you can do. I need you to go with your mother to get the kind doctor lady to come back and examine Basil." He smiled as Molly said, "Roger!" and left as quickly as she came. -
"I hope I get to meet more of them. Maybe they'll help keep Cyrus away for awhile. He may be the alpha, but he'll only be able to fight so much." Basil hummed as he relaxed in the water, his once fluffy hair now flattened by the weight of being wet and pushed back out of his face. He sighed at the mention of the alpha's anger and shook his head. "His always angry about something... And takes it out on me when I don't agree with him. I know he doesn't see me as a person. I'm just entertainment to him, until he gets bored of me of course.." The lamb trailed off, watching the exchange between Molly and Trinity and smiling at how quickly he cheered her up. Someone who's good with kids. He definitely liked that about the other and found it would be easy to get along with him. "Look at you, making Molly happy in less than five seconds. All Cyrus ever did was fight with her like he was a child himself." Basil sighed and sat in the water for another moment or two before struggling to sit up on his knees, trying to get himself out of the tub. "Ah.. I need help, um, getting out again..."
-
"I can introduce you to the few that I know once we're on the road to new areas.. I am sure that they will help. You just need to ask politely," Trinity smiled slightly. "They can distract him from thinking about you. Hopefully he'll stay away if he knows part of the pack doesn't agree with his actions." The older looked away for a moment, imagining what that scene would look like. He assumed that Cyrus would not go down without an argument. He had, after all, fought to get Basil in the first place. And unfortunately, Trinity had eaten one of Basil's fallen citizens- but he swore he wouldn't eat Basil himself. "He takes it out on everyone. Cyrus might just do it to you a bit more now that you are what he considers.. 'His property'," He paused after Molly came in, and after their quick exchange, he turned his attention back to the lamb. He was surprised at the mention of his actions. "I suppose I'm an expert on children because I have two. I enjoy their companionship. I'd hate to see any pup be disappointed." Trinity stood after Basil attempted to get out of the tub. He grabbed a fresh towel and gently plucked the lamb up, wrapping it around the other's waist. He also got a second towel so the prince could wash his hair. "Since Molly couldn't get any of your clothing, I'll have to ask that you borrow some of my spare clothing.. I promise I'll get your own as soon as I can."
-
"I know I haven't sounded like it lately, but I was raised on good manners. Prince, remember?" The lamb joked as he used the older wolf as support when he was lifted to his feet. "He'll probably keep a distance for a little while, then try to weasel his way back in with lies and false promises.." Basil scoffed while drying his hair, recalling how 'kind' Cyrus had been towards him. Whenever he hurt the smaller, he found a wait to make up for it later, but this time he not only violated the lamb but sought to embarrass him in front of the only person he relied on in the pack. Then continued to tease and insult him after. He began to shake, probably coming across as just cold. But it was more than that, his emotional state was not where it had been only a few days ago. "Kids are..the best. They're adventurous, curious, kind, innocent. They are the prime of purity, and I wish that purity could last. The world would be somewhat better. And thank you for the clothing, even though you're quite a bit bigger than me, so they might be loose on a sheep like me."
-
"Ahh, yes.. My prince," Trinity chuckled at Basil's comment, allowing himself to be leaned on. He started to lead the other out of the bathroom into the bedroom. "Even if he can lie to the pack, you and I will not fall for it. We know the truth. That's the perk of being with me." He smiled a bit, watching the other dry his hair. He kept his hands around the other's waist, making sure that he wouldn't fall. The older was worried about the smaller boy. If the wound didn't heal, he might need help walking for the rest of his life. He thought for a moment about asking the doctor if he would need crutches, but Trinity figured carrying him would be cheaper and more relaxing for Basil. He snapped out of his thoughts when he felt the lamb shake. He figured that the other was getting cold standing there with no clothing. He set Basil down on his bed, turning to go to the dresser that held his little clothing. "Some people can keep parts of that purity. Depends on how good their heart is. Ahh, don't worry, they shouldn't be too big.. And it's only temporary." Trinitiy picked out the extra clothing and set it down on the bed. Then, he turned away, placing his hands behind his head. "Tell me when you're dressed."
-
Basil's cheeks tinted at the nickname, growing more red as they walked to the room. The way Trinity was holding his hips reminded him of the night before, the only difference being that his grip was far more gentle than Cyrus's. The alpha had left marks from his claws and some bruises here and there, but when the father held him, the lamb almost seemed to forget about those marks. Basil shook the thoughts from his head, trying to not be so easily swayed by the other. He wanted to trust Trinity, and he did to an extent, but he wouldn't allow himself to be so easily fooled again. He hardly knew the other wolf after all. "I don't even know what he would lie about. Or how he would do it. And.." The smaller winced as he was helped into bed. "I'm pretty sure all clothing is temporary." A bit surprised at the privacy the other was trying to give him, he smiled and carefully go dressed, but only in the over-sized shirt. He felt uncomfortable trying to put on underwear and pants that didn't fit his waist. "I'm done..I'll have to wait for my own pants though."
-
Trinity hadn't noticed before, but he realized that the younger's face was red. Chuckling, he made sure that he wouldn't make the blush get any brighter. He wasn't sure how he would handle a relationship- that is, if that's what Basil was blushing about. He didn't know what would happen to Basil if anything escalated from their slowly processing friendship. He couldn't offer him complete protection if Cyrus found out. not to mention, he had lost his wife despite his rather cautious attitude. Trinity would likely fall into depression if the same thing happened to poor, innocent Basil. He ignored his emotions as the other boy announced that he was finished. "Ahh, I know how that feels. I suppose it's good that my clothing is large enough to be like a dress on you." He turned, smiling at the lamb. "Now we wait for Molly."
