"You've been with me most of the time, so I didn't suspect you to. Thank you, for willingly helping me find something to carry everything in. I'll have to thank everyone tomorrow as well.." Basil hadn't expected to have such a casual conversation with the wolf again, not after all of their arguing. He still didn't want to walk around with him tomorrow, and would refuse to do so. He would go explore with Molly, and possibly her mother, before anything else. The lamb shrugged when Cyrus told him he could've looked through the box if he'd wanted to, there wasn't much need to do so. Basil had seen how some things looked a bit bigger than others, even folded, so he knew if a piece of clothing is smaller, it was for him. "I don't care which side. I've had my own bed for so long I might just forget you're there. If I can even get to sleep on this awkwardly lumpy mat." The prince huffed as he climbed into bed, claiming the side Cyrus hadn't preferred.
-
"Why wouldn't I willingly help you? I owe you that much. You can't be carrying some box around all of the time just for your belongings. That wouldn't be right." Cyrus looked up at the lamb, shrugging. "We can thank them together after we wake up." The wolf, having already been on the bed, crawled over to the open space on his favorite side of the bed. His tail swayed back and forth lazily as he got himself comfortable under the covers. He agreed with Basil on the quality of the bed, and laughed, nodding. "It isn't the best quality, but we'll live. It was affordable. Perhaps I can let you pick the next Inn we stay at, hm?" He turned to face Basil, tucking his hand under the pillow. "I'm sure you'll doze off eventually.

"Because I called you.." He faded, figuring Cyrus would catch his drift. He felt a bit bad for being a spoiled brat towards the other. "I'm sorry I've been..a nuisance. And I can't offer much." Though he would feel better hearing an apology from the other, he didn't expect it. He could feel the wolf move around until he was situated on the bed and under the covers. The lamb didn't trust that anything here was clean, but slipped under the covers when he got cold. Basil glanced over his shoulder at Cyrus, giving a soft smile. "Fine. I'll suck it up for tonight, but the next place we go has to guarantee to be clean. I don't know if these sheets are clean at all. There's no distinctive scent.."
-
"Eh, it doesn't matter to me. I called you some pretty nasty things as well. And I.." He paused, gesturing to the lamb's injured arm with an embarrassed look. "As much as I hate saying things like this, I'm.. Sorry.." Cyrus had to pause after choking out the word, "that I hurt you. I hope you heal well. It's nothing compared to this," the other held up his hand to show his cleaned little puncture marks. He made himself comfortable, sighing softly. The other was indeed breakable as Molly had mentioned, and Cyrus wasn't fully aware of that until he saw how desperate the lamb got after being injured. Luckily, the alpha hadn't completely wolfed out and had control- otherwise, Basil might have gotten out with a nastier injury. He blinked at Basil's smile, then smiled back, though it was faint. "I suppose I can agree. Like I said, you'll pick next time.." The wolf yawned, closing his eyes. "Night, Basil.."
-
"Yeah, those dirty nails really hurt. Clean them. I will make sure you're groomed if you're going to stick to me like paste." The lamb teased, his tail moving slightly under the covers. He preferred being these good terms with the wolf, being pleasant with him, but he knew they were bound to get into future heated arguments. "Thank you..I'll be sure to keep it clean so it heals faster." Basil shifted to face away from Cyrus again, trying to get comfortable. He heard the other yawn behind him and lowered his voice to a whisper, knowing the alpha was going to start drifting. "Good night, Cyrus.." The young lamb lie there in silence, not getting to sleep for quite some time after the other.
-
"Don't worry, I got some of the dirt out while I was in there. Next time I scratch you, you won't have to be in the bathroom for so long," the wolf joked with the lamb, wanting to keep the tension low. He was glad that Basil was already teasing him; though it sounded like such an odd thing to say, it was comforting to know that the two would be able to work things out so quickly. However, with reassurance came the realization that the wolf was worn out, and before he could respond to any more of Basil's comments, Cyrus fell asleep. His ears relaxed as he curled up into a ball not unlike a cat with his hand clutching the blanket. The alpha didn't wake up, not even when the sun was just barely starting to peek in through the window, nor when Molly unlocked the door and went over to Basil's side of the bed to poke at him.
-
Basil wanted to say something back, but the sound of Cyrus's even breathing told him the wolf had fallen asleep already. The lamb had sleep fairly well, though when he was awoke by the light poking of tiny claws, he could feel parts of his body were stiff or sore from the different environment. He shifted around in bed and made a small noise when the pup woke him, but smiled at her anyway. Basil pet her head while he slowly and carefully got up. "Good morning, Molly..." He said to her softly as he got out of bed to stretch some of the stiffness out of his body.
-
Molly's tail wagged when she saw the lamb shuffle around in the covers, and she beamed as he pet her head in the soft morning light. "Good morning, Basil!" the pup whisper-shouted to the other, stepping out of his way so he could slide out of bed with ease. She looked at the sleeping pack leader beside him, giggling happily. It was known through the pack that he was a heavy sleeper and would often only wake up during times of need because of his instinct. The rest of the time, he was sure to sleep in. "Hurry and get dressed, I'll go wait outside. We need to get a much shopping in as possible before we leave this town." Molly grinned to him, giving him a thumbs up as she backed up out of the room.
-
"All right, all right. I'm getting up." Basil spoke softly, smiling at her as he went to look through the book of clothes. He heard the door shut quietly behind him and his eyes went to Cyrus, watching the wolf closely. He was somewhat cute in the way he slept, almost like a child. The lamb felt heat flow to his cheeks while he got dressed, wondering how he looked when he was asleep. Did he sprawl out? Did he drool? Snore? Did he curl up like the alpha? The lamb prince became somewhat self-conscious over something as simple as sleeping. It was silly, but that was how Basil could be at times. He took one last look at Cyrus and went to cover him with the blanket, as it seemed to have shifted a bit, then hurried out of the room to meet with the pup. "Ready, Molly?"
-
Molly leaned back and forth on her heels as she waited for the lamb to come outside. As soon as Basil came out, she looked up at him, smiling. "I've been ready, waiting for you, silly! C'mon." The pup grabbed his hand, pulling him down the hall to the entrance. Some of the pack members were talking to the people who were lounging around, and the she-wolf that had been with Molly was waiting in front of the door. Molly skipped over to her, smiling. "We can go alone, right, mommy?"
"Of course, Molly. I'll trust you to watch her, Basil. I hope you both have a safe shopping time," her mother said. "Molly has her own money to spend and I've included some for you." -
Basil smiled at her, allowing her to take his hand and lead the way to the main entrance. He was relieved to see the wolves weren't all mindless, hungry beasts, that they could actually have conversations and make friends with the townspeople. Though their act of kindness to get him extra clothing already proved that. He stared at the she-wolf, nodding now and then in response to everything she said. "I'll do my best. If anything happens, I'll make sure she gets back to you.." The lamb knew he wouldn't be able to win in a fight or against someone that tries to mug them, but he could still be a decent distraction to get the pup out of harm's way.
-
"Thank you, Basil. I hope you have fun shopping today. I'll send Cyrus your way after he wakes up, though I doubt he'll be up soon if you both sneaked out quietly," she teased, looking down at Molly. "You be good now, alright? Don't do anything bad. Don't touch things unless you plan to pay for them or it's not breakable. Don't run off, don't--"
"I know, mommy, I know!" Molly wailed, cutting off her mother. "I'll be safe with Basil, and I don't want to leave him behind. I'd be a terrible guide then." The small pup used her free hand to push the door open, holding Basil's hand tightly. She lead him outside, breathing in deeply. "Fresh air and stores, here we come!" -
"I'm sure we will. Though I don't really know what much of anything is around here, so Molly can give me a tour and tell me about everything. We'll see you soon." The lamb smiled and gave a quick wave to the she-wolf before he was being pulled on again. He blinked at the morning light, breathing deeply with the pup. "It's a great morning. Now, where do you want to go first, Molly?" Basil asked, looking down at her like an older sibling.
