Sylvya watched him to make sure he got to the table safely, then turned back to the cooking. She assumed the meat was done-it had been a few minutes- and dumped it into the pot of noodles and veggies. She assumed that's what she was supposed to do, but was just going off what Rhyder had told her earlier. She hummed a little as she stirred everything up and made sure it was even, then dished it out into the bowls, giving the one meant for Rhyder a bit more than hers. Boys usually ate more than gis, and she was a bit too nervous to eat much anyway. She grabbed forks at the last minute and walked over to set the bowls at the table. "Eat up~"
-
Rhyder snuck a few glances at Sylvya as she finished preparing the lunch for them. He smiled when she placed the bowls down on the table. It looked and smelled delicious, even with the mishap that had happened in the kitchen. Picking up his fork, he smiled at Sylvya, hoping he wasn't blushing. "Looks great, thanks for your help!" Quickly looking back to his food, he began to eat, discovering it was just as good it looked and smelled.
-
Sylvya nodded a little but didn't really feel like she did much of anything, since Rhyder had told her what to do. She ate quickly and in silence, keeping her eyes on her food. She didn't know if she was still blushing, and didn't want to risk it. She finished her food quickly and deposited the empty dishes in the sink.
-
Rhyder had always found it awkward to talk during meals, so he was a bit glad or Sylvya's silence. More than just talking at meals, he wasn't sure what to say to her at this point after their fall together. Once he had finished his ramen as well, he brought his bowl to the sink and started to wash the lunch dishes. "Thanks for your help with cooking, I can take care of the dishes. My head is feeling much better, so I'm fine now! You can relax for a bit if you'd like."
-
Of course, Sylvya had no desire or intention to relax while Rhyder did the work, and was still unsure if he was actually okay. She make a "neh" sound and made sure that all the dishes were by the sink, then wiped down the counter and made sure everything was off the floor.
The rest of the day went by without incident. The two talked a bit more, and Sylvya asked a few more questions about her phone. They didn't know what else to do, so they watched a few movies and played some card games. Not quite prepared for another kitchen disaster, they ordered pizzas and spent the evening at home.
When it was time for bed, Sylvya got herself into a Tshirt and sweatpants, opting to keep her bra on. She quickly finished getting ready and sat on the edge of the bed to take her socks off. She refused to sleep with socks unless she had to. -
Rhyder had opted to change in the bathroom down the hall, figuring that Sylvya didn't want to be changing in the same room at the time. He quickly changed into some sweatpants and took off his socks, leaving his T-shirt from the day on. He planned to take it off right before bed, as he had gotten into the habit of doing during the hot summer months. After standing outside the bedroom door for a moment to make sure Sylvya had enough time to change, he knocked and entered, walking to his side of the bed. Crawling under the covers, he checked to make sure his alarm was set. He didn't have work the next day, so he planned to stay at the apartment to clean and cook a bit. Glancing at his stack of books by his bedside table, he decided to skip out on reading Hamlet tonight since it had been a long day. He then glanced at Sylvya, wondering what she thought of their new life so far. He was enjoying it, aside from the bump on his head, but it sounded like her old life was much more exciting than this.
-
Sylvya had changed in the closet with the door closed just in case, but was grateful anyways that Rhyder had waited and knocked. She rejected all the covers except for the sheet and set the alarm on her phone for 5:30, since she had to be at work at 7:00. They had agreed she could have today off, but her unit wanted her back at the Kramiery house starting the day after move-in. She hated commuting, but had no choice. She instantly regretted her side-of-bed decision when she crawled in and got comfortable. She slept on her right most of the time, and that put her facing Rhyder. She shut her eyes quickly and pulled the sheet up enough to hide her blush.
-
Rhyder glanced at Sylvya when she crawled under the sheets. He wasn't able to see her blush because of the dim lamp light, but was able to see her eyes close. Taking that as the sign that they should sleep, he took of his shirt and placed in on the floor by his bedside table. Turning off the light, he shifted to get comfortable. He slept facing his right almost all the time, and he was thankful for the choice of bed sides. He could feel himself blushing from having Sylvya so close and facing him, so he closed his eyes and tried to think about something else. It didn't work though, and his new fiancee flashed through his mind multiple times before he fell asleep.
-
Sylvya opened her eyes at the different noise and reddened when she saw that Rhyder has taken off his shirt. There was no denying it now, he was hot. Even in the darkness, she had a hard time taking her eyes off him. She fell asleep staring at his back.
The next morning, Sylvya was awakened by the irritating buzz of the alarm. Her hand immediately shot out and silenced it, allowing herself eight more minutes of sleep. She groaned a little and tried to get her bearings, keeping her eyes closed because she wasn't ready to wake up yet. The new smell and feel confused her until she remembered where she was. She sighed again and adjusted a little, feeling unusually warm and comfortable. Something strange brushed her waist and and she opened her eyes. -
The sound of an alarm woke Rhyder from his sleep, just enough to realize it was morning and he didn't want to wake up. He felt a warmth against his chest, and it felt very nice. Suddenly, he felt slight movement from whatever was pressed up against his chest. Trying to figure out what it was, he moved his arm a little and realized there was a person pressed up against him. As memories flooded back in from the previous day, Rhyder quickly remembered that he was sharing this bed with Sylvya. His eyes shot open and were greeted by the bright red of his fiancee's hair. They must have gotten close and snuggled up to each other as they slept, and Rhyder could feel his heart start racing and his face turn as red as Sylvya's hair. "Hey, um... uh... S-Sylvya...?" As comfortable and warm as she was, Rhyder felt like his heart would burst from his chest if they stayed like this for much longer.
-
Sylvya's eyes widened when she heard Rhyder's voice directly above her, as opposed to a few feet away. She quickly looked up at him but was still surprised at...how good-looking he was up close. She was frozen in panic for a second before scrambling away, nearly falling off the bed in the process. "Ah..g-geez, sorry.. I guess.. I don't- uh.."
-
Rhyder had never gotten a close look at Sylvya's face until just now, and he was honestly happy he did. She had to be the most attractive girl he had ever met, and the beautiful red hair certainly helped that. Rhyder didn't have a problem with the position they had been in, it was comfy and warm, and the smell of Sylvya's shampoo was nice. Shaking his head a few times to get his mind out of the clouds, he looked at Sylvya, ready to jump over and hopefully grab her before she fell off the bed. "N-no, its fine... W-well... it, uh... it seems like we both certainly slept well at least!" He laughed nervously, hoping that his lame joke would ease the tension a little.
-
Sylvya stared at Rhyder for a second, then silently reached up to shut her alarm off and let out a nervous chuckle, staring at him all the while. She made a quiet squeak that sounded like "Nn" mixed with "uh" and retreated to the closet, face flushed. She emerged a few seconds later with her uniform, grabbed sports bra, socks, and underwear from the dresser, and fled to the bathroom to shower.
-
Rhyder had stared back at Sylvya the whole time, trying to ignore how red his face must have been. After watched her get up and leave after grabbing her things, he sighed. The tension was a bit too thick for his lame joke to cut through. Getting out of bed, he slipped on the shirt he had on yesterday, figuring he'd wait for his turn to use the shower to change. Normally he'd just not worry about his shirt, but walking around half-naked with Sylvya around made him a bit embarrassed and uncomfortable. Sleeping was fine, but walking around the apartment normally was too much without a shirt. Rummaging through his drawers, he started to pick out what he was going to wear for the day, the feeling and sight of Sylvya snuggled up against him flashed through his mind several times since he had gotten out of bed, and he blushed and grinned a little unconsciously every time he thought of it.
-
Sylvya had tossed her stuff onto the counter and slid down the closed door, holding her blushing face in her hands as she sat on the tile floor. She wasn't sure how she could have been so stupid, snuggling up next to him, then not saying anything.. Her mind flashed back to that short feeling of his arm draped around her waist, and the warmth and comfort she felt in his chest. Sighing, she pushed herself off the door and stood in front of the mirror. Staring at herself, she took out her hair and allowed it to fall where it pleased, the red strands ending shortly above her waistline. She rubbed her face in her hands and looked around for a towel. Closet. She groaned after opening the door. Of course, they were on the very top shelf, far out of her reach. There was one thing to do... She left the bathroom and shyly stepped back to the bedroom, where she hesitated at the door. "Uh..Rhyder..?" Even to herself, she sounded quiet.
