Rhyder sighed after Sylvya left the room, having heard the sarcasm in her voice as she spoke. As much as he wanted their relationship to develop, he had to also accept that it may not be as simple as in The Proposal. Pushing the negative thoughts aside, Rhyder walked to his side of the bed and removed his shirt to sleep. Sitting on his side of the bed, he picked up the book he had been reading until Sylvya returned. He looked at the pages, but instead of reading, his mind filled with thoughts of his fiance. Covering his face with his hand to cover his blush, he accepted that he really was falling for her, and quickly. He liked being with her, but he wasn't sure what she thought about being with him.
-
Sylvya stared at herself in the mirror for another minute and headed back to the bedroom. She tried not to stare at Rhyder perched shirtless on the edge of the bed and was successful only after several seconds. She busied herself with plugging in her phone, setting alarms, and making sure it wasn't too obvious she wasn't wearing a bra. Bras should not be worn to bed-ever, but she wasn't terribly keen on letting Rhyder notice this. She was almost sure the baggy tank top hid everything but retreated under the covers as soon as she could, just in case.

Rhyder could feel Sylvya's gaze on him when she entered the room, but tried to pay it no mind, keeping his face in his hand. Slipping off his glasses and rubbing his eyes, he hoped that would be enough excuse to have his hand on his face. After he felt Sylvya slip under the covers, he took his hand away from his face and put his book and glasses aside, then crawled into bed himself. Quickly turning off his lamp, he lied down on his side, facing the wall. He could feel that Sylvya was close, barely a couple feet away, if that. He found himself secretly hoping to wake up with her in his arms again, slowly drifting off to sleep.

Sylvya could sense the tenseness and watched Rhyder curiously, if not worriedly, as he got into bed. When he made no mention of anything, she pushed the idea from her mind and closed her eyes. Maybe it was just her imagination. Probably not, but it was possible. What would he have to be tense or nervous over? It didn't make sense to her, and she curled up on her side before quickly falling asleep.
BRAAP BRAAP BRAAP BRAAP BRAAP!!
Sylvya groaned and aggressively tapped the snooze button on her new phone, begging it for an extra eight minutes of rest. She readjusted in her position, happy as ever for the bed's warmth..and comfort..and smell..Wait, smell? She inhaled deeply, partly to stretch, and partly to figure out what had hit her nose. Yup, there it was again. Also, her waist- something touched it. In a second, memories from the morning before came flooding back and her eyes popped open. Surely enough, there she was, pressed against her fiance's chest, his hand draped across her waist, just as the night before. She sighed but didn't move. -
The sudden blaring of the alarm startled Rhyder awake, but just enough so he was barely conscious. He was still stuck in sleep paralysis, but was enjoying the warm, soft feeling against his chest. Hearing Sylvya's sigh, his mind was jerked fully awake as he realized what was in his arms. The wonderful sleep snuggling had happened again, and Rhyder didn't want to move and risk them leaving this position. Thinking about it for a moment, he decided to wait for the next alarm to sound, enjoying the moment he was in. Trying to keep his breathing slow and steady in case Sylvya woke up, he relaxed a bit. This must be heaven, and I'm holding an angel in my arms... Sylvya would probably get up or pull away immediately if she was awake and realized their situation, but she must be asleep still if she's still here. Trying to push those thoughts from his mind, he felt feeling coming back to his body as the paralysis wore off. Secretly hoping that her staying there was her own choice, Rhyder tried to hold his act and enjoy the moment for a little longer.

Sylvya laid there for a bit, trying to figure out what to do. It was evident that this was going to keep happening; the past two nights proved that. As much as Sylvya hated yet loved to admit it, this was probably going to keep happening for as long as the two shared a bed, and the sooner she came to grips with this, the better. It's just what happened; she couldn't help it, it was just something she needed to accept. And with how comfy she was, it was not difficult for her to accept this. She adjusted slightly and sighed again. Taking a couple more seconds to think over the situation, she mumbled an "eh, whatever" and went back to sleep, not moving from Rhyder's subconscious hold.
-
Rhyder felt his heart speed up rapidly when he heard Sylvya mumble something. He couldn't quite make it out, but it didn't seem too important at the moment. Hoping that he wouldn't be caught awake, he froze until he felt Sylvya's sleeping breath on his chest again. Breathing a sight of relief at this, Rhyder relaxed again. It seemed like he would get to enjoy this a bit longer. Glancing up at Sylvya's phone, he was seriously tempted to reach up and turn off her alarm for a bit to stay like this. Thinking it over though, it was a selfish act, and could seriously cause a lot of trouble for Sylvya, he was sure. Deciding against it, he looked away from the phone and closed his eyes, hoping that the alarm gods would favor him and let him be like this a bit longer before falling asleep again.

Sylvya woke up almost eight minutes later to the previously-snoozed alarm warning her to get up. This time, she knew she had to, but she grumbled and hit the snooze again to get it to shut up for a bit. She needed to get up, but didn't want to wake Rhyder up in the process. Taking a deep breath, she slowly twisted a little and wiggled her way out of the loose hold, moving him as little as she possibly could. By the time she got out, she wasn't sure if she had been successful, but knew she had to get ready quick. She grabbed her fatigues from the closet, and the rest of her under-clothes from the drawers before heading to the shower.
