(Satisfied*
I thought I had fixed that, sorry >_< That's embarrassing...) -
Sylvya had been staring at him, wondering why he was so close, her cheeks the color of her hair. Everything after that happened so quickly, she wasn't able to register what had happened until everything was still again. She had shut her eyes instinctively, and the momentum of Rhyder's accidental pull had landed her squarely on top of him, her head somewhere on his chest. She didn't notice this, however, until she groaned and tried to push herself up. Why is the floor squishy..? Half a second later, her eyes were open and she was frozen in shock at where she had landed. She wanted to scramble off of him, but her arm didn't seem to want to function properly, so her hand was stuck on his stomach.
-
Rhyder groaned as he opened his eyes. His head hurt like hell and he felt pressure on his stomach. He remembered falling, so the head pain made sense, but what was on his stomach? Painfully lifting his head up to see, he saw that Sylvya was on top of him and it was her hand was what was pressing against his stomach. He was extremely startled by their position, and he realized it was his fault they were like this. He tried to move, but the fall had winded him, so he just put his head back down and groaned again. "Ow..." Grunting, he lifted his head back up to look at Sylvya. "Sorry I pulled you down with me..."
-
Feeling like an idiot for reacting like she did, Rhyder's simple apology snapped her back into action. She got her hand off his stomach and scrambled to get off his chest. She sat on the floor next to him and peered at the back of his head. "Are you alright?"
-
Rhyder sat up and looked at her with a pained grin on his face. "Yeah, I'll be fine. Head hurts though..." He turned to face the counter as he pulled himself up. He could feel his face turning red, both from the embarrassment from falling had having Sylvya so close. They may be engaged, but that was really the first time they had touched since she had "stabbed" him the day before. They may have been forced into this engagement, but they were still healthy adolescents and Rhyder was very aware of the fact that his fiancee was very attractive, which caused him to become even more embarrassed. He scrunched up his face to try and get rid of the blush before he turned around, offering Sylvya his hand to help her up.
-
Sylvya shook her head a little and got up on her own, not wanting to cause Ryder any more strain. She noticed that his face was a little red and assumed it was from falling and the injury he got. She couldn't help worry about him; landing on the head was never a good thing. "Are you bleeding? You should really sit down..." Taking a few steps to the dining room, she dragged a chair back and set it a few feet from the stove. "Do you want ice?"
-
RHyder leaned against the counter and felt the back of his head to see if he was bleeding as Sylvya got the chair. Checking his hand, he saw there was no blood and breathed a sigh of relief. "No blood, just a splitting headache... Thanks for the chair..." He slowly moved over to sit down, looking around where he had fallen. The cutting sheet and the beef had fallen to the floor with him, so that part of their meal was ruined. Hearing Sylvya offer ice, he glanced at her and slowly nodded. "Yeah, that'd be great, thanks." He put his hand over his face, both to ease the pain a little and to try and get the image of Sylvya on top of him out of his head. It was really starting to dawn on him that they were living alone together, in a very private area. He could feel his blush rising again, and tried to hide it with both of his hands over his face.
-
Sylvya nodded and scrambled around in the kitchen drawers for a Ziplock bag to fill with ice. Once she had that ready, she wrapped it in a hand towel and offered it to Rhyder. "Keep it on there for a while. Maybe it'll help with the headache too.." She handed it to him and quickly turned away, her face reddening more by the second. When she had fallen on him, she had been surprised to find that he was actually very comfy, and couldn't seem to get that thought out of her head. She picked up the spilled food and inspected it to see if it could be saved. "You should stay sitting down, so could you tell me what to do? I may not know how to cook, but I can follow orders..." She turned towards the counter, away from Rhyder, in hopes that he wouldn't see just how red her face was getting. She tried to brush thoughts of him and his comfortable
and hotbody from her mind, and directed her attention towards the food. -
Rhyder gratefully took the ice and placed it on the back of his head. "Thanks, Sylvya." The ice was very cold, as ice should be, and he considered putting it on his face as well to help it cool down. He was very glad that Sylvya was facing away from him so he didn't have to fight his blush. The more he thought about her and what had happened, the more he blushed. Hearing her question on what to do, he snapped back to reality for a moment while he told her how to cook the meat. "Ah, okay. Whatever beef you can salvage, just put in the pan on the stove. After a couple minutes, just flip them over to cook the other side, then poof, meat is done." After he had finished explaining, he realized he had been staring at her, so he quickly glanced away, hoping she hadn't noticed his unconscious staring.
-
Sylvya's back was turned, so of course she hadn't noticed his staring, and responded to his "thank you" with a quiet hum. She nodded slowly and proceeded to cut thin slices off the side of the meat that had fallen on the ground, in order to get rid of any dirt on them. When she was done with that, she did as instructed and put them in the pan on the stove. She watched as they started to cook and the smell filled the apartment. "Ah..okay. What should I do with the vegetables, then?" She glanced over to where the veggies were still laying undeterred from the whole falling fiasco. She was glad that the entire time, she was able to continue facing away from Rhyder, because her face would not seem to return to normal, no matter what she did or how hard she focused on trying to cook. It seemed that the harder she tried to suppress the blush, the more it danced across her face. If Rhyder asked, she decided to just brush it off as the heat from the stove. Lies.
-
Rhyder stared at the vegetables, trying to remember what he was going to do with them. Glancing at the stove and spotting the ramen, he remembered. "Ah, drain some of the water from the noodles there and mix the vegetables and seasoning packets in." He could smell their lunch cooking, and it made his stomach rumble loudly, much to his dismay. Scrunching up his face again to get rid of the blush he had, he slowly stood up and leaned over to see how the lunch was coming along. He was nervous to be this close to her, but his curiosity won over and he decided to look anyway. He felt his face turning red again as he got closer to Sylvya, but figured he could just brush it off somehow if she noticed it.
-
Sylvya once again did as she was told, dumping most of the water out before tossing all the vegetables into the pot. She chuckled a little at Rhyder's stomach's comment, but frowned when he stood up. She thought he should stay seated, but didn't say anything about it and bit her lip. "What do you think...?" She was kind of nervous being this close, but didn't really try to move, either. He would be sitting back down again soon anyways...right? She peered into the pot, curious as to how the whole thing would turn out.
-
As Rhyder saw the food, his curiousity disappeared and was replaced by embarrassment because of how close he had gotten to her unconsciously. He quickly took a couple steps back and glanced around he kitchen, trying to look everywhere but where Sylvya was. "It looks great! I'll... uh... get some bowls for us now." Even though he had found the bowls in his earlier endeavor for cups, his mind still had the image of Sylvya on top of him, making it hard for him to concentrate. After searching all the cupboards, he finally found them and set them on the counter by the stove, trying not to glance at Sylvya too much. "Found the bowls!"
-
Sylvya smiled a little and flipped the meat once Rhyder went looking for bowls. She watched him curiously as he fumbled around for the bowls and frowned a little when he set them down. "Are you okay? You're acting strange. I haven't known you long, but are you alright? You should really sit down again, I'll take care of the rest..." She mentally kicked herself for talking so much and found herself rubbing the shirt covering her tattoo. She always did that when she was thinking hard or really nervous. It wasn't hard to determine which of those was happening right now, and she blushed as she forced herself to stop. Her hand retreated to the back of her neck and she sighed, wondering where all her self control went.
-
Rhyder sighed and shook his head. "Eh, I'm not sure... I'll be fine though, but i guess you're right that I should sit down... My head hurting during the stress of cooking mush have made me frantic, sorry." He knew what he was saying was a lie, but he wasn't about to admit to her that she was the reason he was so flustered. Thankful that he could use his fall as excuse for his behavior, he moved the chair from the kitchen back to the dining room, placing the ice on the back of his head again. He had noticed Sylvya rubbing her shirt, but he didn't think he should ask about it at the moment and just kept quiet about it.
