Joey heard some rustling coming from the bedroom, glad that Christian was getting up. Beside him, a stack of steaming chocolate chip waffles was prgressivly growing taller. He hummed quietly to himself and began to clean up. It was a bit more work to clean the waffle iron, but he didn't really mind.
-
Cristian realized a little late that he should have put his pant on before he got out of bed. He considered getting back into the bed just to put on the pants, but... It was his own house, and he was sure Joey had seen worse at some point. So, he decided to just pull on a bigger tee shirt (that depicted a cartoon Captain America), that he could tug down to his mid-thigh. With this, he wheeled out of his room, going to the dining table to get out a cigarette.
-
"Morning!" Joey piped cheerfully, carrying out the plate and the syrup, along with a fork and knife. "Sorry for waking you this morning, but I wasn't sure you'd want to sleep that late." He set down the waffles and sighed, watching him grab for a cigarette.
-
Cristian took one look at the waffles and set the cigarette down next to the pack he'd already taken it from. "It's fine," he mumbled, seeing that they weren't just waffles, but they were chocolate chip. Instead of going for the cards, he occupied his hands with the fork and knife, cutting the waffles.
-
"Do you like chocolate chip? I was going to ask, but then you were getting ready...but I figured you must like sweet things since you always put so much syrup on your pancakes." He explained with a small smile, sitting down opposite him.
-
Cristian nodded, getting the last bit of waffle cut up. He was beginning to itch a bit for a cigarette, the nicotine addiction rising up in his chest, but he somewhere deep down his biggest goal at the moment was to get through a plate of food without needing a smoke.
-
Joey was silently very proud of Christian, who normally couldn't make it through the morning without his cigarettes (much like Joey and his coffee, though he denied it). "I haven't made waffles in a while, so they might not be the best." He warned, a slight apologetic smile accompanying his caution.
-
Simply while he was cutting them up, Cristian could tell that the waffles were the way he liked them. Crispier on the outside than the inside, but not by too much. He got the syrup, poured a good amount on, then finally, took a bite of the waffle. It was.. "Good. They're good," he stated, blankly eating another piece.
-
Joey out on a mock-shocked face. "Did I just receive a compliment from Christian Grayson? Surely I must be dreaming." He chuckled, but he was happy Christian liked his breakfast.
-
Cristian frowned, but his face turned red. It was kind of embarrassing, even with no one else there. He mumbled something about not complimenting ever again, and then kept eating his waffles.
-
Joey smiled innocently at Christian, feeling a little guilty as he watched the slightly younger man blush. "I was only joking, Christian." He assured him.
-
Cristian settled to just eat his waffles, piece by piece, trying to enjoy the taste of them. Because they really were good, and he really did like them.
-
Joey sat back in his chair, contentedly watching Christian enjoy the waffles. He really did seem to enjoy sweet things. He made a mental note to grab some chocolates on his way home from work.
-
It didn't take long for Cristian to finish all of the waffles, though he wasn't left unsatisfied. Full, he went back to picking up the cigarette he'd taken out earlier. Luckily, he'd left his lighter on the table the night before, so he grabbed that too and lit the smoke.
-
Joey stood up and grabbed the plates, escaping to the kitchen before the room was filled with smoke. After quickly cleaning up, he poked his head back into the other room. "So, is there anything you'd like to do today? We could always go to the park again, if you like." He offered.
