Joey followed him outside and glanced around. It was a little cold out, he hoped Christian would be alright. It was always hard for him to tell what he was thinking. He started off towards the park. "So, how long has it been since you've been out?"
-
Cristian wheeled along right beside Joey, keeping up just fine with the pace. "Uhm. I don't know. A while. I open up the window every one in a while to air out but I think it's been a month or two."
-
His stride faltered and he stopped stil for a moment. "A month?" He repeated in shock. "...Honestly, I'll have to start dragging you out of the apartment more often." He mused with a slight smile. "What about the movies? That might be fun..."
-
The veteran wrinkle his nose, continuing down the sidewalk even when Joey had stopped. He slightly regretted having told Joey how long it had been. "...Still sounds like a date suggestion."
-
Joey quickly caught up to Christian, laughing a little. "Come on, I just want to see you get out more. You know I worry about you." He said with a slight sigh. "I just hate seeing you stuck in that apartment for weeks on end."
-
"I know, but I don't see why. I'm perfectly fine with my life being the boring, smoky thing it is." His cigarette was burning out, so he quickly reached up and took it from his mouth to toss to the ground before going back to wheeling with both hands. "That's all I want to do. Play cards and smoke. Really, if it would make you feel better we can do that outside every once and a while, but... That's just the way it is."
-
"But you said it yourself- your life is boring. I want you to enjoy life. Feel excited once in a while, you know?" Joey explained. Although he was pleased that Christian had offered up the option of playing cards outside every so often. At least the veteran cared what he thought a little bit.
-
Cristian huffed, unsure what to say back. It was true that he was never really enjoying himself, or looking forward to anything, but he wasn't sure if he wanted Joey to be making him 'happier'. "Whatever."
-
Joey paused when they came to the park and glanced down at Christian. "It might help if I knew more about you. What you like do and things like that." He sat down on one of the park benches. "I mean, all I really know is that you like to smoke and okay cards, and that you prefer pancakes over waffles."
-
Cristian pulled his chair up next to the bench, beside Joey. "Actually, I prefer waffles, I just figured it would be harder to clean a waffle press than a pan."
-
"Thank you," Joey gave him another smile. "But next time I'll make waffles. Cleaning up's not a big deal. Anything else?" He asked, glad that Christian was upholding the conversation.
-
Cristian shrugged, pulling out the pack of cigarettes. He took one out, but didn't light it, only twiddled it between his fingers. "I don't think so."
-
"That's really it? How about food? What do you like besides waffles? Or movies? What kind of movies do you like?" He fired question after question at Christian. Although he might not admit it, he wasn't just doing this for work. He really did worry about him, and he wanted to see him happyz
-
*happy.

The veteran took a minute to think about it before answering, feeling like all of the questions were kind of sudden. "Chinese food, eggrolls. I don't watch movies that often, but horror, I guess."
