Cristian glared back down at the box, reading through it to see if there was anything else- maybe he could just take two patches, he thought, or change them more frequently. But there was nothing, only a lot of consulting doctors. "Is it too late, then...?"
-
Joey shook his head firmly. "It's never too late. Taking two might work," he offered. "I can ask around some of the other doctors for you, they know more about this than I do," He admitted with a small smile.
-
Cristian decided to nod breifly, then pick up another box from a different brand so that he had two in his lap. "That's all I needed, then," he decided, and went off to go to the cash register.
-
Joey followed beside him, pulling out his wallet. "I'll pay," He smiled again. "Since this could technically be considered part of your treatment." He handed some crumpled bills to the woman behind the register and watched as she dropped the two boxes into a plastic bag.
-
((The interesting thing about patches is that they give crazy freakin nightmares so
Hyuhhyuh c;
Cristian didn't argue with this, because it was techinocally true. That, and his unemployed-veteran checks wouldn't be enough to support buying patches for ten weeks. He took the bag from the woman at the register, and started out. -
opportunity for comforting X3)
Joey followed alongside Christian's wheelchair. "I have to leave soon," He said with a reluctant sigh. "But I'll remember to ask about the patches for you." -
Cristian, for the second time in two days, felt somewhat dissappointed that Joey had to go. He was actually beginning to enjoy spending time with him, now, even if all they did was go to the store. "Alright.. Thank you, then."
-
Joey smiled, and it wasn't his usually falsely cheerful grin. It was a real smile. "My pleasure." He replied, before turning and headed off his own way, already looking forward to tomorrow's visit.
-
Cristian continued in the direction of his apartments, the bag with the patches in his lap. He got back to his room- a new scratch on the wall- and decided to try out the patches. Joey had said that he'd be asking another doctor about it, but surely, trying out one patch wouldn't hurt. He opened the box, peeled one open, and put it on his upper arm.
-
After a few more visits, Joey made a stop by the office. After doing some asking around, he'd found out that using two patches should be safe for Christian. However, the slightly more concerning news was the awful nightmares that the patches caused. Glancing at the window, he noticed it was rather dark out. Maybe he should check on Christian....

((Story time
Last year I had a room mate who was trying to quit and she woke me up in the middle of the night because she was sobbing and I was tired so I just threw a book at her
The end))
Cristian had gone to bed at his normal time, and the patch was doing it's job, to some extent. He still had a craving, but it wasn't so bad that he couldn't sleep. So, around 8, he got into bed like normal bunched up in sheets. It was only about an hour later that he actually started having a dream. It made him uncomfortable, shifting around on the bed until he'd ended up on his stomach and hugging his pillow to his chest.
The worst of it, his neighbors heard first. The lady right next door was just getting to bed when she heard blood-curdling screams through the wall, and she came stomping out into the hallway to see that plenty of other neighbors, in various states of sleep, were grumbling away about it. One of them apparently had the veteran's doctor's number, and called Joey. -
Aw that sucks for your roommate))
Joey was debating whether or not he should visit Christian after all, but he didn't have to make the decision. His phone did. Joey was startled out of his silent argument when it buzzed in his pocket. He quickly pulled it out and held it to his ear. "Hello?" -
((I didn't know))
The woman who'd called was speaking with an ever-so-slightly annoyed tone. "Is this a Mr. Newton?" She asked, and before she even got an answer she continued talking. "Your patient in apartment 441 is causing somewhat of a disturbance. If you would kindly make your way here..?" -
no I meant the nightmares not that you threw the book XD I probably would've done the same thing)
"A...disturbance?" Joey couldn't think of what Christian might be doing to bother the other inhabitants of the building, but he supposed he was about to find out. "Of course, I'll be there right away. Thank you." He hung up before the woman could respond, and in a matter of minutes he was stepping out of the elevator on Christian's floor, heading straight for the vet's apartment. -
(Oh xD
Yeah, that sucks. I never asked what her dream was about but apparently, as the box would descirbe, they cause 'vivid, abnormal, or traumatic dreaming events', via google.)
By the time the doctor arrived, half the neighbors had gone back inside but three of them lingered. They'd already tried opening the door, but it was locked. The screams had turned into wails of sobs, but if anything they were louder. The woman who'd originally called started talking as soon as Joey stepped into the hallway. "Door's locked, and he's even louder than before. I need to get to sleep, I have work in the morning, he needs moved to a different room, I won't be able to handle this."
