When he finally woke up, he was surprised to find the apartment empty. He checked the hallway and discovered that her scent was too stale to track. Rory sighed and settled on the couch, trying to think of possible places for her to be.

When Ella reached the clinic she pulled out her phone and dialed the number, waiting for an answer. She didn't want Rory to wonder where she'd gone.

He practically pounced on the home phone, though it took him a few seconds to figure out how to answer it. "Hello?"

"Rory? It's me." She said with an apologetic smile, although he couldn't see it. "Sorry I disappeared this morning, I had to work. I'll be home a bit later, there's more meat in the fridge if you get hungry.."

"Uh, where is it? Just in case? Where you work?" he asked, sounding relieved.

Ella laughed slightly. "In case what? It's been ten years, I don't think anyone's going to attack me..." She gave a little sigh. "It's an animal clinic, just down the street. If you leave the building just go left. It's a big white building, you can't miss it." She explained quickly.

"Okay," he replied, nodding. "Have a good time at work."

"Thanks," She replied. "Bye Rory." She hung up and set to work, checking up on the sick and injured animals. She gave shots and pills and treats. She sighed a little. She loved spending time with the animals, but the job really didn't pay much.

He wondered if she'd had anything to eat yet, and figured that he could probably buy her lunch. He knew that the clan had an account for human currency that was hardly used, and that he could access it if he needed to. Now was probably the time to do that.

Ella smiled and patted the German Shepard puppy that sat on the table in front of her. She gave him one last little treat and smiled when he barked happily, his tail wagging a mile a minute. Her stomach growled and she sighed, remembering that she hadn't eaten this morning.

Rory left the apartment, doing his best to lock the door behind him. He made his way to the elevator, but chose to take the stairs instead. A lot of the technology she had, such as the phone and microwave, confused him a little.

When lunch rolled around she sighed. In her rush this morning she'd forgotten to grab a lunch. "Looks like I'll have to but one, huh..." She murmured to the puppy, lifting him back in his cage and heading for the building's exit.

By the time he figured she'd be getting off work for lunch, he'd managed to get some money from the clan account. It'd been tough persuading the teller that he did, in fact, have access, but after some gentle persuasion, he found himself leaving with plenty of money for whatever they needed.
He made it to the pet hospital in record time, and waited for Ella outside. -
Ella excited the building and was surprised to see Rory standing there. "Rory? What are you doing here?" She asked curiously, brushing a bit of hair out of her face.

"Can I take you to lunch?" he asked, smiling a bit at her.
