He shook his head. "I'm okay for right now. You should get back to sleep."

Ella hesitated. After what had just happened she really didn't feel like sleeping...

"Do you want me to stay with you until you fall asleep?" he asked.

She bit her lip and nodded. "Yes please." She settled back into the blankets and watched him carefully. She was slightly comforted by his presence, she felt safe around him.

He wasn't sure whether or not to lay down. Even though he said he wouldn't, he quickly slipped into her mind to see if she had any preference. He wondered if she could feel his presence in her thoughts.

Ella almost wished he would lie down with her, but knew it would probably be awkward to ask. So she stayed quiet, trying not to think about her dream.

He eventually laid down beside her, and found the bed much more comfortable than the couch.

Ella smiled softly at him and felt her eyelids growing heavy. "Thank for staying with me..." She murmured, closing her eyes. After a moment she was fast asleep again.

He wasn't sure if he should leave or not after she fell asleep. He didn't want to seem creepy, but at the same time, he didn't want her to wake up after another nightmare and not have him there. Rory was fast asleep before he could make a decision.

Ella shifted again, whimpering softly in her sleep. She rolled over and her hand accidentally brushed his cold skin. The action seemed to calm her down and she stopped moving around so much.

He didn't really move too much in his sleep.

A few hours later Ella woke up. She blinked at the sunlight coming through the window and glanced at the clock. Shooting to her feet she cursed under her breath. At this rate she was going to be late for work. Ella worked part time at an animal clinic not far from apartment. She groaned and started rummaging around for a change of clothes, not noticing that Rory was still in the bed.

He rolled over onto her empty spot, enjoying the fact that it was actually warm.

After a quick shower and a change of clothes, Ella rushed out of the apartment. She was down the street when she finally remembered Rory was still asleep. She groaned again, but kept walking. She could call the apartment house-phone later and tell him where she was. She didn't want to call now and wake him up.
