"I carried you in. It's fine." He smiled a little at her. He wasn't too enthusiastic about mugging someone, but it could work.

"Oh. Then thanks." She said with a little smile back at him. She sat down beside him on the couch and glanced at him. "What were you doing while I was asleep?" She asked curiously.

"Just... thinking." He kept his eyes on the ceiling.

She tilted her head. "What about?" She asked curiously. Realizing she was being a little rude she blushed. "Sorry, I mean you don't have to tell me if you don't want to.."

"No, it's fine. Just... my clan gets mocked by other vampires. It's because we're pacifists for the most part. We don't attack under any circumstances, and we don't fight unless we absolutely have to. We drink animal blood so we don't have to harm humans." Rory sighed, and looked at her.

Ella frowned, but she was glad he finally met her gaze and looked at her.
"That doesn't seem like a bad way to live." She said, and she spoke truthfully. -
"Until you're held hostage by psychopaths and refuse to defend yourself." He frowned.

Ella frowned again. "Oh. Well..." She trailed off, unsure of what to say. Avoiding violence was perfectly fine with her, but refusing to defend yourself in a situation like that just seemed a little weird to her. "Well that's why you're here right? So I can help."

"I'm not sure. I'm... actually much more violent than most of them. Remember when I killed that thing in your house? They still haven't forgiven me for that."

"Even though you were protecting me?" She asked. "But you had a good reason..." It didn't seem fair to her that he was still being blamed for that.

He shrugged. "They said I could handle it differently."

"What else did they want you to do?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Coax it away, or let it kill you, I guess." He yawned a bit.

Ella shuddered. "Well I'm glad you chose to do things your way." She noticed him yawning and stood up off the couch. "You should get some sleep, I'll leave you alone."

"You don't have to if you don't want to," he said around another yawn.
