Ella smiled, trying to hide her small bit of relief. "Thank you, Rory." She said sincerely. She stood up and quickly pecked him on the cheek. "Thank you." She said again, before darting out of the diner and heading back towards the clinic.

His eyes widened, and he stood there in slight disbelief and shock before following her out. If only she did that more often.

Ella felt a little nervous as she got back to work, wondering whether or not kissing him was the appropriate thing to do. She breifly wondered if he'd enjoyed it, but then blushed and silently scolded herself for thinking about that.

He made his way back to her apartment, still thinking about the kiss. It was nothing, really. Being as old as he was, he'd been through plenty of interesting experiences with plenty of interesting creatures... but the tiniest kiss from a human, and his heart was fluttering.

Ella headed out of work after a few more hours, collecting the small paycheck and walking towards the apartment. She realized she may not have left it unlocked for Rory and sped up slightly.

Once he got back, he realized he hadn't locked the door, and checked inside to make sure no one had come in. He probably wasn't the best to see if something was taken, since he'd only been there for a few days, but he could definitely smell someone. After contemplating the scent for a while, Rory realized that the scent was from of the hunter who attacked him the night before.

Ella arrived at the apartment a few minutes later. She was relieved to see the door open and poked her head inside. "Rory?" She called, closing the door behind her and glancing around.

"Sorry, I left it unlocked. The hunter came in. I don't think she took anything, but if she did, I'll take care of it, okay?" He was laying on the couch, staring up at the ceiling.

Ella suddenly stiffened. "She was...here? As in...inside the apartment?" She glanced around nervously, almost as though the hunter was still hiding somewhere, about to jump out and attack Rory.

He nodded. "Yeah. Told you, they're creepy. Wait a second, if you're going to pretend to be a hunter, you have to act like you have no boundaries. So maybe try that."

"...No boundaries?" She looked back at him, now convinced that the hunter wasn't still in the apartment. "You want me to break into someone's apartment or something?" She asked, looking a little conflicted.

"No, just... be bolder or something. I don't know. This entire thing is driving me a bit crazy. I'm sorry." He rolled onto his stomach and looked at her.

She sat down at the end of the couch and tilted her head. "Don't apologize, you didn't do anything wrong. Just...how can I be bolder?" Ella blinked, one idea flashing through her mind. She blushed fiercely and pushed the thought away. That was certainly not what he had meant.

He shrugged. "I have a feeling I should be glad I wasn't reading your mind a few seconds ago?"

Ella blushed darker and looked away. "I-I...er..." She could hardly tell him that she was tempted to kiss him and show him just how bold she could be. She shrunk into the couch, wishing she could disappear.
