Looks over at him and tilts head. "Why did you come out here?" Frowns slightly clearly curiouse about him.

"Which time?" he asked, watching her.

"Now." She shrugged and licked her dry lips. "Why did you come back out here?" Frowns slightly.

He looked off into the water. "The answer? I wanted to see you again."

She was clearly startled by the answer. "Why?" She said failing to realize he had never seen her kind before. "Oh yeah. The tail." She sighed and ran a hand through her hair.

"That," he conceded. "And the fact I owe you, for saving my life."

She shrugged. "You don't owe me anything. It was just a simple act." Yawns and runs her fingers lightly over her own scales absenmindidly.

"You didn't have to," he said. "You could have let me die, I owe you my life."

"Come on." She went to the edge of the water and slid into until it was waist deep. "Sorry I needed water. But anyway, it wasn't a big deal. There was something different about you." Shrugs and rolls over to her stomach to look at him.

He followed her over, letting the water around his boots. "what was different?"

She shrugged letting her tail move slowly. "You seemed so sad yet there was hope left in you." She blinked her big eyes up at him. "You seemed like you weren't all about the gold."

"There's gold down there?" he snorted. "I was just there for the adventure. Nobody had done it before." When she said about hope, his eyes showed pain for a moment, before going to his typical guarded expression.

She rested her chin in her hands and her elbows in the sand. "You know," she said tilting her head slightly. "It's okay to let your walls down." She sighed.

"When people get close to me, they get hurt," he said sadly. "I don't want to hurt you."

She laughed. "I won't get hurt. No human knows about me expect you." Grins at him. It was getting late but she didn't care.
