He nodded. He'd lost... Everyone. "My family, my fiancee, my brothers..."

Pats his hand. "I lost my mother and sister." She said quietly and found his skin was rougher then hers. "Why do we lose so much?" She smiled sadly. "Because we gain new things."

Jake offered a bleak snort. "I'd rather have died in Arizona," he mumbled. Her skin was rather soft, and warm.

She shrugged. "Well, then you would have never met me." She tucked a strand of red hair behind her ear.

He looked at her, "I'm rather glad we met," he said with the beginnings of a smile.

She smiled lightly. "See? I'm not that bad." She mused she turned her attention back on the water. Running her hands over her tail she was surprised to find it almost dry.

Jake watched her, "is this your first time on land?"

She nodded slowly. "Yeah.. We arnt suppost too. No one really knows what happens but rumors say we will die or humans will lock us up and do experiments." She shivered at the thought and wrapped her arms around herself. "I wasn't even suppost to save you.." She said quietly.

"We?" he asked, "there's more of you?" Jake asked curiously. "Just for the record, I won't turn you in or anything."

She fidgeted slightly. "Yeah. A whole city." She smiled as she thought of the city. "It's beautiful." She eyed the water knowing she would need it soon. Licking her lips she chuckled. "If only you could see it.."

Jake nodded, watching her. "Wow. All in the wreckage?"

She giggled. "No silly. That wreckage is just a place where I like to hang out and get away from it all." She blinked and yawned slightly and pushed her long thick hair out of her face.

He nodded, "wow." Jake looked at her. She was beautiful, unlike any girl he'd met before.

She sighed quietly. "Beautiful isn't it?" Motions towards the water and the sky. She wish she could draw it.

"Yeah," he said, looking at her.
