In all honesty, I do think that abortion is horrible but for some it's the only option. If abortion was banned there would be even more cases for mothers killing their newborns than there already are, I mean just a few months ago there was a girl that gave birth in a bathroom stall at school and tried to flush it, and when that didn't work she just threw it away, this happened in my same city. If you're going to make a woman go through an entire pregnancy, birth, and having to give up her baby, are you also going to pay for her prenatal care, doctors visits, hospital bills, food, and vitamins?

bananabread NoviceI think that people should choose what they do with their bodies and what's inside it. I do not like people telling me what to do, so if I did get pregnant and not ready to handle it yet I would abort it (though I never would because I'm smart enough not to). There is nothing wrong with giving birth to it and putting it up for adoption.
Also, the fact that if a woman was raped and got pregnant from the rapist and didn't abort it. Even if she didn't keep the child, she would still have physical reminders of that traumatic moment in her life that she didn't choose to happen.
Though you guys say, we could be losing an important person in the future. Chances are whatever they could have done, will be done by someone else. 'With an infinite amount of monkeys with an infinite amount of type-writers and they will re-create Shakespeare' or something along those lines.
P.S. I already believe the planet is over populated, and if we let those already aborted fetuses live, there would be more hunger problems, and more crowded than ever. -

Well I believe that every individual was put here for a reason and has a purpose in life, but those are just my beliefs so let's just drop this part. -

Thepersonyouenvy NewbieI believe that the baby is a person and has a right to life. I hear things like, "But it's the mother's baby, so let her do what she wants with it," or, "But what if the mother was raped. She shouldn't have to face the consequences of somebody else's actions," or, "Sometimes it's to save the mother's life." The thing is, that is a human being, not somebody's property. And if the mother was raped and she really can't raise the baby, there's always room in an orphanage or foster care. And if it's to save the mother's life, that's fine by me since if the mother dies the baby would as well. But it should be limited to saving the mother's life. Innocent babies shouldn't be dying for someone else's convienience.

So what if they don't get adopted....at least they have a chance at life. -
@Person Do you realize how stupid that is? Some mothers die when the babies live. Also would you rather lose your own mother who has been there your whole life or lose a baby that could die any second? There's already someone who has a life, job, family, friends, etc. I don't think they should have to throw that away for a baby they don't want.
@Mark I don't think you understand how much stress kids who are always in foster homes or who never get adopted go through.
