^ Exactly. *Claps*

When the child is born and the mother sees her child, it's gonna be really difficult for her to just give her child up for adoption. I doubt many moms will do that.
-
Plus, even if she does give her child up for adoption, the thought of her child being out there somewhere or being mistreated in any way, will always haunt her.
-
*is not sure about posting*
Honestly, its her body. Its her choice,if she doesn't want to go through child birth she shouldn't have to,why have a kid just to give him/her up..all that pain for nothing! You can't be certian that kids gonna get a happy home either.A woman should have a baby when she feels like she's ready for one.
>.> gonna get attacked in 3..2..1.. -
I agree with you Sick.
-
Sick, I respect your opinion. Though I believe God owns our bodies. :)
I believe if a person chooses to have sex, they must be willing to deal with the possible consequence of an unwanted pregnancy. If they're not mature enough to care for a child or at least give it up for adoption, they should not be having sex.
There are plenty of families who'd absolutely love a baby. By being brave and mature, by not terminating the baby, you have given a couple the perfect blessing. -
^ Claps and tears up. (Idk why I'm tearing up! I never cry!)
@Vik --- so it's easy to murder your child, but not easy to give it to a family? -
let's think about it this way then:
Abortions will happen whether it's legal or not.
Legalizing it only makes it safer.
less people will die.
(before you pull the shtick "more BABIES will die", it's included in that: MORE PEOPLE WILL DIE WITH THE 'BABIES' AND THAT MEANS DOUBLE THE DEATH, IS IT REALLY BETTER TO HAVE MORE DEATHS THAN LESS DEATHS AHHH)
(please don't take the caps rage seriously) -
Although I am against abortion and I believe terminating a beautiful, innocent baby is wrong, I am in no way advacting that abortions should be made illegal.
-
ange, I absolutely love you right now for being understanding
It's perfectly okay to think that abortion is bad and everything, but taking away the rights of someone to do so can end really really badly (i know someone who tried to abort their child by sticking a coat hanger A COAT HANGER up her....parts because abortion was illegal where she lived)
the reality of the situation is, it's not something that can be avoided so there's no point in making a common (and safe) practice illegal. -
Carri, Thank you!
I heard of a similar story last year.
A 14 year old girl hid her pregnancy for the entire 9 months. How she did it? I have not the faintest idea! Her mother failed to notice the bump. Apparently the girl wore blankets to hide the bump
This particular 14 year old girl gave birth to her baby boy in the bathroom. She bit down upon a towel, as to not scream in agony. And the agony she must have gone through! She shoved scissors up her vagina to quicken the process and by doing this, forced the baby out. She strangled her own baby to death- until he turned blue.
A few days later, her mother noticed a putrid smell coming from the girls bedroom and investigated. The foul scent was deep within the girls wardrobe, hidden in a shoe box. Inside laid a tormented baby boy, blue from being suffocated with severe head wounds from scissors being repeatedly stabbed..
If availability to abortion means horrific cases like this remains avoided then I am for the availability of abortion. We cannot know what the baby feels. But I ask you, if that baby were you, what would you rather- to be aborted, before you breathed your first breath, or would you rather breathe your first breath, have the mother look you in the eye, before fastening her hands around your frail neck?
Abortion makes me miserable. I believe it is horrendous and cruel. But if the availability of abortion decreases horrific events like this, why the hell would you make it illegal? -
Vic, If a mother were planning to abort her baby, then I highly doubt giving that same baby up for adoption would be heart breaking. Yes, it would be emotional and likely difficult. But if you are willing to terminate the baby, why the heck would you not be willing to adopt out the baby- giving it a chance in life? I ask you- which act is more loving; terminating the baby or giving the baby to a family who really wants a child?
You may be correct- the mother may feel distress, perhaps shell even feel haunted by the prospect of her baby not being safe. Would you then agree that terminating the babys life would not haunt the mother? That she would not feel distress, guilt. By giving the baby up for adoption you are at least giving the baby a chance. If you abort it, the baby has no chance. -
"If they're not mature enough to care for a child or at least give it up for adoption, they should not be having sex."
Mind you, but this is plain wrong. I mean the whole "dealing with the consequences of sex". Read page three, I've posted my reason there.
Now, about "why a mother would 'murder' her child yet wouldn't give it up for adoption". Look, I have never been a mother, and I will never be one. But I think it's kind of obvious that a mother would never have love for a fetus she's never seen, heard and watched growing up. When a child is born, the mother sees him(let's assume the child is a he). Hears his crying. Touches his body. If the mom gives her child up for adoption, there will always be a worry inside her that the child might be mistreated or living a bad/unhappy life.
Now, there are two things I'd like to point out:
1- The fetus is not a sweet and beautiful child. Sure, it will eventually turn into a sweet child, but any sperm can turn into a sweet child. So every time a male masturbates, he's terminating a sweet and beautiful child according to your logic.
2- I'm not against adoption, some moms may choose to do that, but some moms won't choose to do that. So adoption is never a good solution. -
If the mom doesn't want a child, she can abort the fetus to make sure it won't turn into a child who would rather not be born.

And you just proved you don't read my posts. Like I said, mistakes happen. And abortion is for those times.
