Thread Topic: SUPER HOT SPICY DEBATE: Abortion

Animals are not equal to man.
-
And no I can't do anything about suicide, but just because the child MIGHT end up killing itself is no reason to abort it.
-
And if I were constantly in excruciating pain, knowing it wouldn't get better, I'd rather be dead.
Also yes, a woman who is raped does have the right to remove the reminder from her body. Why are people so obsessed with babies? Does the woman who is alive and has her own life, job, friends, nothing? Should she have to deal with traumatizing memories of the rape just to give birth to a child that she doesn't want? No she shouldn't. The fetus cannot feel, it doesn't have emotions. Someone who already exists is more important than what could exist. -
@Ting that's fine.
-
You are treating this like you think human life is worth anything. The way you treat the rights of the child-bearer in question makes me doubt that.
Women (or anyone else capable of carrying a fetus) are not baby makers. -
If humans just wanted to reproduce it wouldn't be considered taboo to have children at such young ages because that's supposedly when your birthing hips are best.

I'M FINALLY DONE HERE IS MY RESPONSE FROM BEFORE THAT I LOST GAHHHHH I'M SO TIRED
I probably lost a ridiculous amount of information, but this is what I remember and if I happen to recollect more of it, I'll add onto it.
Let's think of this more in a scenario: So we have a woman whose pregnancy will for sure kill her unless she has an abortion. Would you save the mother who will die at birth, or the unborn fetus? If you chose the fetus, congratulations for setting the women's movement back a couple hundred years, you just gave a clump of cells more rights than a living, breathing individual who has already established relationships and so forth. You've taken away the bodily autonomy of another individual.
What is bodily autonomy you ask? Bodily autonomy protects your right to choose who uses your body. This right makes it so that you as an individual cannot be forced to donate blood, organs, or limbs. This makes it so that I cannot come up to you and make you give up part of your liver for me because I need it to live and we are a match. This also makes it so that you cannot be assaulted (taking away the body's right to health), raped (forcing the body to engage in sexual acts against will) or even, murdered (taking away the body's right to life.)
Now where does the fetus come in? Because the fetus is, key word using the woman's body to live. That right there, the word using is extremely relevant. Bodily autonomy gives the individual to choose who has the right to use their body, now in the context of this argument, I will refer to the fetus as a (persons) because you so adamantly believe it is a living being. Now, bodily autonomy gives the woman the right to remove that persons from her body if she chooses to do so.
"But that's murder!" This situation is very similar to the one I gave you of me requiring a piece of your liver. Let's say you refuse. There is no law on my side that lets me take that piece of your liver. There's no law on the fetus's side saying that it can use the woman's body against her will. LITERALLY THE SAME SITUATION.
AND AS FOR THE MURDER ARGUMENT I WILL ADDRESS THAT as simply as i possibly can because i'm extremely tired and I'm lacking brain power at this point from retyping this godforsaken thing: Most abortions are carried out in the earliest stages where the fetus literally cannot feel pain, and under the law, a fetus is NOT considered a person until it is able to live outside the woman's body independently and until then, it is regarded as a parasite due to it's requirement of a host body.
With that being said, if you cannot provide an argument for me, BASED ON ACTUAL FACTS AND LOGIC RATHER THAN YOUR OWN IDEA OF MORALITY, I will not be continuing any further unless I myself have an actual contribution as it is a wasted effort.
Furthermore I'd like to apologize to everyone who is reading this, I did not proof-read this or the other -rather- angry response and I'm sorry for the possible cissexist, transphobic, grammarical or any spelling errors that have shown up. -
As for my previous violent response, I apologize for that. I got way too emotionally involved since it got way too personal on my end and I overreacted and committed multiple logical fallacies revolving around my opinion towards rape.
-
But it's not the child's fault, either, okay? I'm not "slut-slamming". I am we'll aware that having sex is natural. But if you are not careful enough to not get pregnant in doing so, you're going to have to suffer the consequences.
Now, in the case of rape, I realize that it was not the rape victim's fault. But to say "I am going to murder someone just to get this reminder out of my mind and so I don't have to deal with it. And it's okay to do so because it wasn't my fault in the first place" is rather selfish. I'm sorry if you got raped, and yes I know it wasn't your fault. But there are other ways of handling it; adoption. Which is a much more mature, civilized, mindful, and decent way of handling it.
True, fetuses don't have feelings but they will have feelings someday and by aborting them, you just took those feelings away from them. You just stole their life and destroyed it. -
You literally ignored everything I said and continued to use an argument that has no scientific grounds behind it. This is a useless argument and frankly I am tired of it.
Goodbye and goodnight. -
Dude, I hadn't read it yet. That's why. Now listen it's four in the morning and I am so frickin tired right now so I'll deal with this tomorrow.

I'm trying hard not to go on the full rage mode after reading your posts damask(which somehow rhymes with dumba$$ no offence)
First read other people's comments, or at least the comments of the person you're ignorantly arguing then start talking. Child abortion, and overall making children is a very important topic. I recommend that you spend some days thinking about it before just childishly arguing. I myself have been thinking about such topic for months. I've always been wondering why there is so much misery in the world. Why more populated
countries are always poorer. Why there are so many child laborers in the world. Why there so many f---ed up families every where.
Many people blame god for those, saying it's all his fault. They say "God created Africa and made the people there poor. Why isn't he doing anything about it?" Well, actually the people there made themselves poor; by making children knowing they can't raise them.
Now, if you intend to argue me, first read my posts in page 2-3 and then please use your brain and think a little. -
First of all, whatever Vik; I don't care because you're insulting patterns everywhere. I'm going to be at the furniture store and burst out laughing. Now everything you sit down on a damask print couch, you better feel guilty
We're never going to see eye-to-eye on this. You're telling me that my reasoning is wrong if it is not a scientific reason. But I don't believe in Scientology. Every opinion I have toward politics comes from my religious beliefs. I can't even reply to you without "shoving my religion down your throat" as everyone on GTQ says. If I even say "God" they say that. I should just stop talking so I don't piss anyone off, shove my religion down anyone's throat, or whatever the hell else I've been doing wrong. I'm going to go announce this to the lounge and those will be the last words I ever say to anybody. -
The two emoticons were supposed to be in the 1st paragraph

There's a huge difference between Scientology and actual Science.
I'm talking Science.
Science is proven by research and backing facts from said research.
Saying you don't believe in science is like saying "I'm the most ignorant individual in the world!"
