“Yeah, I- I can,” Connor spoke, rolling onto his back. “You- you don’t mind if I do, do you? I- I know some of my- my old friends have been kinda- weirded out by it, I guess-“
-
“Uh, nah, I think I’ll be fine,” Evan shrugged, sitting down on the bed. “Are they just- like, stubs?”
-
"Kind of, yeah," Connor replied with a nod, going to take off his prosthetics.
-
“That’s funny,” Evan said with a chuckle, watching Connor take the prosthetics off.
-
“Yeah, it’s definitely a little weird lookin’, but y’know-“ Connor said, chuckling softly. He pulled off his prosthetics one after the other, setting them on the bed beside him. He pulled off the sleeves he had on his legs covering the stubs, exhaling softly as he set them off to the side. “It’s not even really that my legs hurt, it’s where my legs used to be that hurt-“
-
Evan furrowed his brows, looking back at Connor’s eyes. “Like- phantom pain?”
-
"Yeah, phantom pain," Connor replied, nodding.
-
“Huh, that’s so interesting,” Evan said blinking as he thought.
-
"Yeah, it's really weird- And so annoying," Connor said, sighing as he sat up. He leaned against Evan's side, resting his head on his shoulder.
-
Evan hesitated before draping an arm around Connor’s shoulder, holding him close. “I bet it is.”
-
Connor smiled a little, leaning into Evan's side more. "I can't even take Ibuprofen to like, ease the pain- It genuinely just doesn't work."
-
“Ugh, that sucks,” Evan said softly. “Is it like, a mental thing? Well- obviously, but-“
-
"Mm, kinda, yeah-" Connor replied, nodding a little.
-
“Man, that’s weird,” Evan said softly.
-
Connor nodded, curling closer to Evan. He hugged onto him and lifted his head, pressing a kiss on his boyfriend's cheek.
