  Kai nodded and offered Casimir a hand to help him back on his feet. "I hope so." He didn't want to say it, but he felt if these illusions got worse, he may never be able to distinguish reality from fantasy. For now, he just bit his lip and waited.

  Casimir sighed, looking down. He hugged himself for a moment, grounding himself, then took Kai’s hand and got up. ‘It’ll be fine, we’re all just… tired. I’m sure I’m overthinking this. Don’t worry your lovely heads about it,’ he said, offering a big though half-hearted smile. He hung up his ringmaster coat on his black-metal stand by the door, which was painted a dark red. ‘You all should get some sleep, it’s late. We’ll see what happens tomorrow.’ He opened the door for them, silently trying to get them to leave so he could panic alone.
