Liam hesitated before offering his shaky hand to Jared, a nervous look in his eye.

Jared looked back over at Liam, hesitating for a moment before taking his hand. He smiled a little, feeling his face heat up. It so wrong, but- I don’t know, it feel right, he thought, intertwining their fingers together.

Both Liam and Evan let out a sigh of relief. Liam smiled, squeezing the brunettes hand as they walked. “Okay, so we’re going swimming after lunch, but what do you guys wanna do before then, after breakfast?” Evan asked, turning and walking back wards to talk to them.

“Uhh, we could go for a hike, maybe?” Jared offered up, rubbing the back of Liam’s hand with his thumb. “Ooh, yeah, a hike sounds fun~” Michael said, smiling.

“Oo yeah,” Liam said with a smile, nodding. “We should go on the trail that goes around the lake.” “Oh yeah, we haven’t gone on that one, yet,” Evan said with a nod.

“Yeah, that’ll be fun,” Jared said with a nod, watching Liam for a moment. He slowed down a little, holding his friend back. “Are you alright? I- I didn’t mean to act like that earlier, I swear-“

“Uh- Yeah, yeah, I’m fine,” Liam said, forcing a small smile. “I’m just glad you’re not mad at me-“ -
(i hc liam loves insects and bugs, bc i wanna >:)
so jared’s nickname for him is bug <333)
“Mad at you? Never, dude, how could I be mad at you?” Jared said, frowning a little. He smiled, letting go of Liam’s hand and wrapping his arm around his shoulder. “You’re my best friend, Bug, I could never be mad at you~” -

Liam smiled softly, leaning into Jared a little. “Okay, good. Sorry, I just- really thought you were like, ten minutes ago.” -
“I- I mean, I was mad- But not at you, Bug, promise,” Jared said, rubbing Liam’s arm.

Liam smiled softly, looking up at Jared in relief. “Okay, that’s a relief. What were you mad about, though?”

“Uhh- It’s nothing, don’t worry about it, Bug,” Jared said with an awkward chuckle, gently squeezing Liam’s arm. “C’mon, let’s catch up to Evan and Michael,” he added, moving his hand from his arm and grabbing his friend’s hand, speeding up a little.

“Oh- okay,” Liam said with a chuckle, twining their fingers together as they speed-walked up to Evan and Michael. Evan gave Liam a look, and Liam nodded and smiled in response.
(im gonna be off for like 30 mins, and then i won’t be on much for the next day or so bc i will be with my friend!) -

Jared gently squeezed Liam’s hand, leaning into his side a little as they walked. -

Liam stared at the ground with a lovesick smile, squeezing Jared’s hand back.
