“Yeah, seriously-“ Liam said, glancing around the forest. “Guys, hold on, wait up!” Evan said, jogging a little to catch up with them.

“Whatever- I’m gonna go on ahead, see if I can find the baby deer again,” Michael said, jogging forward. “Don’t come crying to me when you get hurt if you go off the trail again!” Jared said, chuckling. He gently squeezed Liam’s hand, humming softly.

Liam smiled a little, squeezing his hand back as he glanced back at Jared. “Hey guys! Have you seen anything cool?”

“We saw some moths and butterflies- Oh, and Michael’s being a dumb--- and going off the trail,” Jared said, smirking playfully. “f--- OFF, I CAN STILL HEAR YOU-“ Michael shouted from up ahead, flipping off the brunette. Jared chuckled, flipping off his friend.

“Jared, please don’t!” Evan called, chuckling quietly. “Yeah! We saw a lunar moth!! It was so cool-“ Liam said with a bright smile.

Jared glanced over at Liam, a small smile on his face. “I wish I coulda gotten a picture of it, ‘m sure he’d want it framed or something,” he said with a chuckle, nudging his friend’s side with his elbow.

“Oh my gosh- that’d be awesome!” Liam said with a wide smile, squeezing Jared’s hand out of excitement.

Jared laughed softly, rubbing the back of Liam’s hand with his thumb. “Guess I’ll have to do just that, then~” He said quietly, a lovesick grin on his face. s---, I- Maybe I am gay-

“Oh, would you?” Liam said, smiling. “I would love you forever~” he said, half joking.

“Maybe I will, then~” Jared teased, letting go of Liam’s hand and playfully wrapping his arm around his friend’s waist. He pulled the blonde close, smirking playfully. “You’d like that, though, wouldn’t you~?”

Liam blushed, a nervous expression appearing on his face. “Ye- yeah, I really would, actually-“

Jared flushed red, chuckling nervously as he pulled his arm back. “Well uh- I- I guess I’ll have to get a camera and take a picture of a lunar moth for you,” he said quietly, looking down with a lovesick grin on his face. “Or any other bug, whatever you want-“

Liam smiled, also glancing away and staring at the ground happily. “You’re too nice-“

Jared flushed bright red, smiling happily. ”Yes, if he were gay, he’d be punished!” He froze up a little, his smile faltering as he crossed his arms over his chest. No, I- This is wrong, right? I- I can’t be in love with him-

“Okay, what is wrong?” Liam whispered, giving Evan a look to stay behind. “You’ve been acting weird all day-“
