“See, I knew I f---ed that one up, but I couldn’t figure out what I did wrong,” Adrienne replied, correcting their mistake. They looked over, seeing the neatly organized work. “Oh, uh- thanks,” they said with a hint of surprised, nodding slowly.
-
"it's no problem. There wasn't anything for me to help you to understand better so I organized the work in an easier to look at format so it's less intimidating. I've realized the math folder has the most papers so I split the section in 2." Octavia said
-
“Thank you, that- that helps out a ton,” Adrienne replied with a small smile, putting their headphones back on and going back to their work. They hummed softly, tapping their foot to the beat of the music as they switched between writing and using the calculator.
-
Octavia got out a notebook and started solving more equations so that she could help and check equations.
-
Adrienne hugged one leg to their chest, exhaling deeply for a moment. They tugged at the collar of their shirt, whining softly for a moment. They tried their best to ignore the growing tightness in their chest, and half an hour later they groaned softly, setting down their pencil. “f---- I’ll be right back,” they murmured, standing up and leaving the table. They walk out of the library, turning down the hallway.
-
Octavia decided to look over Adrienne's worksheet while she was walking out. It was almost completed. Octavia was a little confused as to why Adrienne would leave without completing the worksheet. She thought it might be the nicotine addiction but Octavia wasn't sure.
-
Adrienne came back into the library after a while, pulling on a hoodie they grabbed from their locker. “Sorry, I uh, I had to go take off my binder,” they replied, exhaling softly as they crossed their arms over their chest and sat down. “Forgot to take it off last night before going to bed.”
-
"ah, from what I know that is very unhealthy. It can damage your lungs if worn for an extended period of time. You really bully your lungs don't you?" Octavia said. She started to doodle on a page full of equations.
-
“Apparently,” Adrienne said with a chuckle, grabbing their pencil again. “Just hate how I feel without it, though. I would get top surgery, but it’s majorly expensive.”
-
"I understand. As much as a cis woman could that is. I would draw a comparison but a bad comparison would make it seem like I don't understand at all. It's hard to not look like the way you see yourself." Octavia said. She drew an orca in the corner of her page.
-
“Yeah, definitely a pain in the ass,” Adrienne replied with a chuckle, nodding. They put their headphones back on, going back to work.
-
Octavia started drawing all sorts of fish on her paper. Eventually she took out her spiral notebook and her purple pen and started drawing marine mammals in her notebook.
-
Adrienne soon finished the next few worksheets, setting them off to the side. “God, my brain feels fried already,” they mumbled, pulling off their headphones and setting down the calculator.
-
"you could try doing some English assignments instead of math." Octavia suggested. She held up the yellow folder where she put the English assignments.
-
Adrienne stared at the folder for a moment before nodding, taking it and opening it up. They exhaled and pulled out some worksheets, starting on those instead of going back to the math.
