Nick giggled, smiling down at the small dog. “Hi baby, you excited?” He crouched down a little, giving Penny a couple pets.

Penny yipped happily, licking Nick's hand. "Penny sure seems to like you," Karl said, giggling, "although Penny likes everyone." He chuckled as he crouched and opened another crate, two pups clamoring out of it. They barked and yipped, wrestling with each other. "These two are Rex and Tex, they're twins," he said, the two pups running around Nick's ankles.

“Awww,” Nick said with a laugh, standing up straight again. “Rex and Tex is such a cute name,” he said, drawing out the end of the last word.

"I know, right?" He said, giggling. "Elodie picked them out, since she was the one who rescued them." He walked pasted crates, opening them and letting out the pups inside. "Alright doggos, out we go," he added as he walked over to the door to the yard area, opening it. The pups clamored out, running out to the grassy area. "Alright, now you be careful, Penny," he spoke to the brown pup in his arms, setting her down as she yipped. She limped off to play with the other pups, tail wagging.

Nick stuck his lower lip out, watching all of them. “Oh my gosh they’re so cute.” He glanced over to Karl with a wide grin.

"I know, they're such cuties," Karl said with a smile as he looked over at Nick, his heart beating fast as he saw the expression on the ravenette's face. He flushed red, turning away quickly to look back at the pups. Maybe not as cute as you, but still pretty adorable.

Nick furrowed his brows for a moment before looking back at the puppies. He felt something at his feet, glancing down and seeing a french bulldog leaning against his leg and trying to get his attention. “Oh, hey buddy,” He said with a chuckle, crouching down to say hello.

Karl looked back over, seeing the puppy climbing on Nick. "Now, this little food lover is Noodle. My, or I guess our, boss's daughter named him because he likes spaghetti noodles. A lot," he said with a smile, crouching to pet him.

“Well, he’s a little cutie patootie,” Nick said with a laugh, moving to sit down on the ground with the dog. The dog stumbled onto his lap, making Nick giggle.

Karl watched Nick with a lovesick grin, sitting down beside him. "I think I especially love this part of the job, getting to connect with the pets," he said, leaning back as a puppy ran over, trying to climb on him. He giggled and picked it up, lifting the pup to his face. "Especially the pups, y'know, since they're man's best friend and all."

“Yeah, I love dogs,” Nick said with a chuckle. “They’re always so sweet.”

"I think they may be my favorite animal," Karl said with a chuckle, setting the pup down and letting it go play. "I love working with animals, any animals, really." -

“I love them, but I think I like cats or snakes a little more,” Nick said with a chuckle, playfully jostling around Noodle and playing with him. -
"I like cats too," Karl said with a smile, sitting up and crossing his legs. "I think I used to have one when I was little."

“You think?” Nick said with a small giggle, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion.
