(yeah, beat em upp >:)
i took some dayquill bc the allergy medicine i've been taking doesn't seem to be helping much-)
Karl nodded, writing something down on his paper. "Have you ever been apart of a medical emergency with an animal? What type of emergency was it?" He asked, walking over to the door of the animal room, opening it. "And have you ever been apart of a medical emergency where you didn't have immediate access to any tools or equipment to help the animal? How did you handle that?" -
(🥊🥊🥊
and that sounds like a good idea, i hope you feel better soon!)
“Uh,” Nick thought for a moment. “I feel like my mom was always there when I was around animals? I mean one time I was playing with my dog and she gashed her leg open. I brought her inside, cleaned it as well as I could, and called my mom and wrapped it up with bandages I found around the house. I was like, thirteen though and I freaked out a good bit.” -
(i hope so too :')
i have theatre so idk if i'll be able to sing today T^T
also won't be on much until later this evening bc i'll be at theatre lol)
"I feel that," Karl said with a chuckle, nodding. "And lastly, since it's mandatory to ask, is there anything on your record we should be aware of? Ever done drugs, underage drinking, crimes we should be aware of, etc?" -
(aw yikes that would stink
and ok, all good!)
“I mean, I drank when I was under twenty-one, but, I’m of the legal age now and it was always on private property of some sort,” Nick said, shrugging. -
(am back u^u
thankfully my voice didn't give out haha
still have ragin' allergies :'))
Karl let out a laugh, crossing his arms. "Haven't we all?" He commented, walking out of the door. "No crimes though? I once "shoplifted", like, when I was nine, but I felt so bad I burst out crying in the car to my mom telling her I nabbed a piece of candy. She made me go back and give it to one of the people working there, then apologize." He chuckled, shaking his head. "I sure learned my lesson." -
(oh im glad it didn’t give out that’s good 😭)
Nick laughed, shaking. “Nah, no crimes.” -
"Good, good," Karl said with a chuckle, nodding. "Sorry, I know these kind of questions are weird to answer, but they're protocol."
-
“No, it’s totally cool, I get it,” Nick said with a chuckle, crossing his arms.
-
"Alright, I think that's it," Karl said as he walked over behind the counter, setting his clipboard down. "So, you think you're ready to start today? If not, that's totally fine!" He paused, exhaling as he took the papers off and put them on the counter space in front of him. "Not like we're super busy, anyways. Business has been pretty slow, even though we're getting animals in pretty regularly."
-
“No, yeah, I’m not busy today,” Nick said with a nod, watching as Karl put the papers up.
-
"Cool, cool," Karl said with a smile, nodding. He set down the clipboard and leaned forward, meeting Nick's eyes with a smirk. "You wanna go play with the puppies, get their energy out in the yard out back?"
-
“Hell yeah,” Nick said with a grin, chuckling a little. He adjusted the brim of his hat, glancing over to the animals room.
-
Karl smiled and walked out from behind the counter, walking back to the door and opening it. He walked inside, humming softly. "Wanna help me wrangle the pups outside? It gets a bit hectic sometimes," he commented, chuckling.
-
“Oh sure, yeah,” Nick said with a chuckle, following Karl. “Are we just gonna like, herd them or leash all of them?”
-
"Nah, just herd them in, they don't need to be leashed," Karl replied, shutting the door before walking over to a crate, opening it. "Hello, Penny~" He said with a smile, opening it. The puppy hopped out, yipping happily. "Hey cutie~ You ready to play with the others?" He giggled as the hyper pup barked, causing the others to bark in return. He chuckled, picking up Penny and going to open up another crate.
