Nick continued to hang out with Karl and all the dogs, until the door opened and you could hear some sort of bag, the contents inside being shaken. All the dogs sprung up from wherever they were, barking loudly and running to the noise. Nick turned, looking to see who it was, and to no surprise, it was Elodie - quickly closing the door so no dogs ran back inside - with a pretty large bag of dog treats held up in the air to keep it away from the dogs. -
Karl pulled his gaze away from Nick, looking over at his co-worker. "Hey, El," he said with a small smile. "Hey dorks," she said with a smirk, wiggling her brows at Karl, who flushed red. "You wanna give the pups some treats?" She asked Nick, setting the bag down on the ground.

“I would love to,” Nick said with a chuckle, grabbing the bag and immediately regretting it as excited puppies ran and jumped all over him. “Okay, okay!” He said with a chuckle, standing up in an attempt to distance himself. He laughed, opening the bag and reaching in to grab treats.

Karl giggled, watching Nick with a smile. "Let me know if you need help," Karl said with a chuckle, standing and brushing off his jeans. Elodie chuckled and shook her head, walking over to Karl. She grabbed him by the arm and pulled him away for a moment, crossing her arms. "What?" He asked, looking at her face. "You know what," she retorted with a smirk, giving him 'the look'. He flushed red, exhaling. "You don't know anything, El," he muttered, embarrassed. He turned and walked off, walking into the building. Elodie exhaled, walking back over to Nick.

“Wait your turn, wait your turn!” Nick said with a laugh as he gave out treats to the pups, with Noodle standing his ground and standing directly in front of Nick, in between the ravenette’s feet. He continued to give the dogs treats, glancing up at Elodie. “So, how long have you been working here?”

"About six months, I joined a bit after Karl," Elodie replied, watching Nick feed the pups. "I've always had a love for caring for animals, since my own cat's a little b---- and gets himself into fights with my neighbor's cats. I'm always having to patch him up."

Nick chuckled, glancing at the dogs before back at her. “Aw, poor guy. Is he an orange cat?”

"Nah, siamese," Elodie replied, grabbing a small handful of treats and tossing them for the pups to catch. "He's a mischievous little demon, but a cute one at that.

Nick laughed, nodding in understanding. “Do you have any other animals besides a cat?”

"I have a rabbit, but it's really more my little brothers pet," Elodie replied, crouching down to pet one of the dogs rubbing against her leg. "I think I prefer cats over rabbits, to be honest. It's a hassle to clean the cages n stuff."

“Yeah, that’s fair,” Nick said with a nod, taking a few treats out and handing them directly to Penny, smiling sweetly. “So uh, you and Karl seem pretty close. You guys only know each other from working here… or?”

"We used to talk, back in high school," Elodie replied, sitting down on the ground, "but we weren't super close. We probably only know each other because our parents are friends."

“Ah, okay, gotcha,” Nick said with a nod., securing his hat again. “That makes sense. Did you start working here because he did, or just because you wanted to?”

"I had wanted to, since I'm going to school to become a vet, but it was pure coincidence we both started working at the same place, to be honest," Elodie said with a laugh, crossing her legs. "I'm not even kidding, like- I knew he started working at some rescue center, but I had no idea which one. So when I showed up to work, I was so shocked to see him."
