'Because being a human is soooo bad,' Mildred grumbled, flipping onto her stomach and setting the book on the bed, turning the page.

Molly Gru and smendric had been doing their own thing trying to find a way to return amalthea to a unicorn and free the other unicorns. Lyre decides to help them and amalthea and the others go to the shore. Haggard appears along with the red bull. Lyre slayed the red bull and the unicorns were freed including amalthea. King haggard was not so pleased, he begged the unicorns to stay but instead they trampled his castle and he fell to his death as the sun rose. The unicorn has a speech about she was very different now because she alone was the only unicorn capable of regret. Then the book ended.
-
Mildred wasn't satisfied with that ending. She frowned and shut her book, then walked to Jack's office and knocked on the door.
-
Jack opened the door. Jack was still sulking. Hilariously, he stored a set of ink pens in his eye patch that were getting ink on his face.
-
Mildred looked up at him. 'Why are there pens in your eyes?' she asked, confused.
-
"my eye patch is better storage when I'm writing poetry as I... Tend to break my pen holders in fits of creativity." Jack said as he set his hand below his eye and lifted his eye patch. The pens fell off of his face.
-
Mildred caught two pens. ‘Can I read some of your poetry?’ she asked.
-
"I told you you can't. My poetry is very... Dramatic and often the rhyme scheme is off and of course it's embarrassing." Jack said.
-
‘Fine, fine, emo guy. Well, I came here to tell you that I’ve finished the book, and I still don’t see how you’re King Haggard.
-
"I used my subjects to kidnap you and I keep you here like a prisoner so that I can be happy. That's just the same as what king haggard did to the unicorns." Jack said.
-
Mildred paused. She looked extremely conflicted and averted her gaze to the ground, not speaking for a moment. ‘I don’t think you’re like that,’ she said quietly, fidgeting with her hands. She didn’t know how to continue so she stayed quiet.
-
"I.... You're too kind. I'm an old man who has trapped you in a remote village full of creatures who would kill you if they got a chance." Jack said. He paused for a moment. "Mildred, would you like to see my garden?" Jack asked.
-
Mildred sighed softly at the first part. She looked up at him with a small but weak smile. ‘You’re not that old. And sure.’
-
"Mildred, I am 2,000 years old. At this point I'd be burned for witchcraft." Jack joked. Then he remembered Mildred's family was burned for witchcraft. "Oh no, I'm sorry. I was not thinking." Jack apologized. He stepped out of his study
-
Mildred froze. She stepped aside a little, rubbing her arm. She didn’t say anything about that. ‘2000 is probably the average for vampires,’ she said, rubbing the back of her neck.
