‘Ugh, I don’t mind spoilers!’ Mildred said, wanting to know.

"he wanted me to know that I am King haggard." Jack said. He knew this wouldn't make any sense at the current moment to Mildred. "Mildred, do you ever miss the human kingdom?" Jack asked.

Mildred obviously didn’t quite understand the first part, about King Haggard. She was about to ask if he was a bad guy before Jack asked that question. She froze and fiddled with her hands. ‘Uh, I suppose,’ she admitted. ‘It’s nice being around people, I guess, and I had a couple friends. I don’t really have anybody here. But at least I have food and a bed here,’ Mildred said, shrugging.

"it is quite unfair for you to be taken from your home in the middle of the night... Do you ever think of going back?" Jack asked as he picked up his spoon.

‘Sometimes. I miss being around humans. Some of them are quite horrible, but some of them are good,’ Mildred said, moving her spoon through her soup absentmindedly. ‘But then again, the politicians are obviously not good.’

"politics? In the human kingdom? I guess I can't say much in that department when I also run a monarchy." Jack said. He drank his soup and looked at the bread half heartedly. Then he looked at the sealed pitcher and noticed his thirst. He hadn't drank anything for quite some time. He got a cup of milk.

‘You seem like good royalty. The humans have bad royalty,’ Mildred said, then blew softly on her soup. ‘Other than that, I guess I miss it. Why?’

"just some things I've been thinking of recently." Jack said. He drank more milk. He looked at the food. Lunch was a stolen custom from a culture he had no part in

‘Right. Is it to do with the King Haggard thing? Is he a bad person?’ Mildred questioned, looking up from her soup at him.

"he's an old man who has no joy. I think it sounds a lot like me." Jack said as he drank more milk and took small spoonfuls of his soup.

‘You have joy. I mean, you were smiling like, two days ago,’ Mildred said, but figuring it probably wouldn’t help. That had been when Alexander had stirred, but not woken. ‘Ooh, and you laugh when I tell you jokes! That’s something!’

"there are other aspects of king haggard's that I have obtained." Jack said as he looked as the book. He haphazardly ate his soup without looking at the bowl.

‘Which is?’ Mildred asked, taking a spoonful of her soup. ‘You’re not that bad.’

"you wouldn't understand." Jack said before staring into his soup again. The emo boy was sulking.

‘I can try to. C’mon, lighten up a bit!’ Mildred said, elbowing him, then returning to her soup.
