Jack sat beside the coffin in silence. "I wish your answers could reach me, I want to talk to you again." Jack said to his sleeping brother.

Mildred crossed her ankles. She wasn’t sure what to do in the castle, especially since the party preparations were going on. She wondered what she’d wear.

Jack stood up and walked out of the room, locking the door behind him.

Mildred shifted position and rested her feet up on the headboard, still reading her book, but her kind kept wandering.

Jack walked up the stairs and decided to go do his job. No book was there to distract him.

Mildred held the book up to block the light in her eyes.

Jack read through the papers, filling out the information he had to. He spent hours doing this

After a couple hours, Mildred had fallen asleep on her bed.

Jack ended up working until lunch. He decided to stop by his room to pick up the last unicorn before heading to the dining hall.

Mildred woke up to the moth she’d trapped in her room flying around her head. She sneezed and started awake and was pretty hungry, so she got up and walked to the dining hall

Jack sat down and set the book to his right. He was surprised he didn't see Mildred. He didn't know what to do.

Mildred eventually showed up to the dining room. She sat down at her normal spot next to Jack.

"ah, hello Mildred. I've finished reading the last unicorn. I've found out what Frederick meant. It's a good book, I'll loan it to you." Jack said. He rang the bell

‘Oh, you have? What did he mean?’ Mildred asked, resting her chin on the palms of her hands.

"you wouldn't understand unless you read the book. He made me upset." Jack said. Wilhelm brought out a lovely tomato soup with cheese and bread.
